Nefer has been very ... helpful lately. See how she is helping me do my work here?
Sora, sitting on the mat my chair is on. He arrives silently and I fear one day I'm going to accidentally run over him. Also note how he is in half-squid position (I call his tendency to sit with both forelegs stretched out in front as far as possible "squidding," because it reminds me of a squid. :D)
This is out of focus (or, rather, a nicely in-focus picture of my craft cart thingy), just to show you where Sora is currently spending his afternoons ... slowly creeping across the floor following the sunlight through the skylight ... carefully ensuring that only his head is in the sunlight.

Nefer then wandered over to investigate why I was taking photos of Sora.
And flopped down and demanded a belly rub. The can there is currently a toy - we stick the Hamtaro plushie the cats like into it and see if they fish it out.
Sora, investigating the sun from the other skylight. And finding it lacking, perhaps because his full body is in the sunlight. The white thingy is a thingy the Roomba uses to find its way around.
Dinner tonight: black bean chili. Note I did not say merely "chili": I am Texan and therefore chili DOES NOT HAVE BEANS IN IT. There is a perfectly good name for chili with beans in it, and that is "chili with beans in it". So therefore this dish is not merely chili, but chili made with black beans. And red peppers, and onion, and jalapenos, and bacon and ham and cumin and oregano and chili powder and chicken stock and DEAR GOD THE SMELL IS DRIVING ME MAD WITH HUNGER.
It's moved into the slow cooker now, and is cooking away, not to be disturbed until 7 PM.
