At least in this one, he's claiming to have offering a condo in exchange. Many of the ones I'm seeing are just offering rooms.

There was one from a couple that offered someone the chance to sleep on an air mattress in their living room that twigged my paranoia meter.

Damn: I haven't seen an ad this blatant since the Eighties. The "Absurder" used to be full of those in the back, and you're right in that they don't fool anybody. It's just that for every sleazebag like this, you'd still get eight or nine girls who'd think that this was a good deal, and maybe two who'd consider marriage if the guy was rich enough. (A girl I knew from my Club Sparx days disappeared for a while, and I ran into her about ten years later. The guy was ridiculously rich, she'd had two kids with him, and you could tell she was counting the days until he died so she could inherit everything.)

He's been running the ad for a couple of weeks so far, so it looks like he hasn't found anyone that meets his requirements yet.

Actually, that's about par for the course. Many of those "Absurder" ads would run for months if the guy was particularly fussy. Here, he's probably going through the selection and wondering "Blonde, brunette, or redhead? Or could I get all three and make them bathe together while I watch?"

When I was looking for an apartment/roommate situation on Craigslist five years ago, one of the ads basically said that if you were a single woman you could live with him for free if you cooked and cleaned. You could share a bed with him too. Uh-huh.

Of course, on the flip side, there's never any shortage of ads from women seeking a sugar daddy man "who knows how to pamper a woman". With bonus points for describing themselves as "discreet".
