Does anyone here know enough Latin to tell me what "I dream" (in the sense of actual dreaming, not aspiring-to-goals type stuff) is in Latin? As in "[I dream] ergo sum." (Please no online translators.)

No reason for it other than I woke up with the thought in my head and now I am insatiably curious.

I believe it's the first conjugation verb somniare, "to dream," so in the first person present singular, "I dream," it'd be "somnio." So "Somnio ergo sum."

But my Latin is several years old now, so perhaps someone can come in and confirm (or tell me I'm misremembering).

Someone on the LJ crosspost thinks that "somnio" is the right conjugation as well, so I suspect it's confirmed. :D

I think you want "Somnio ergo sum." Apparently someone wrote a well-known philosophy article with that title, or something, because I get a lot of results referring to it: Somnio, ergo sum on the Googles

The infinitive for dreaming while sleeping is somniare but I don't, for the life of me, remember how to conjugate anymore.
