In traditional Japanese funeral custom, I am told by the internets, the kimono is wrapped around the dead person in the opposite way from the living. Does this also occur in traditional Chinese funeral rites? (I assume there are as many different traditional rites as there are ethnic groups in China - assume that you're in a historical fantasy wuxia movie: what would be likely for that?)
I have a painting in the works that was inspired by a Japanese story, but as it appeared in my head as a Chinese novel cover style painting, I've decided to move it over to more of a Chinese fantasy feel, rather than its current awkward amalgam of Japanese and Chinese.

It's a good thing to keep in mind when drawing hanfu or kimono. Quite often I'll see the folding of the front of the robe unintentionally reversed in art.

* The only part that is specifically Japanese - the rest is consistent with Chinese wuxia movies.
