There were actually some good sites on there back in the day not mine-- I remember doing a lot of informal research for fic on those sites, done by hobbyists who were passionate but too cheap/limited in resources for a pay site.
I wondered about that! Aahh, Geocities. I remember my childhood days, frolicking about the internet, jumping from bad Geocity site to bad Geocity site, huffing at the annoying ads.

Also, am glad to see the microwave problem isn't just me. Was worried that perhaps I'm sitting too close to the kitchenette.
It's like a piece of my childhood passed away.
