You know why I like my cats? Sora's ATTENTION IS BEING PAID TO SOMEONE AND IT IS NOT ME is so refreshingly honest. And his tail is so long that when he carries it upright it looks like a bicycle flag.

Sadly true! I came to Regency romances via the delightful Georgette Heyer (I just this minute finished The Talisman Ring), which contributes enormously to my inability to stand any other Regency romance I've read to date. I keep trying them, and hating them because the prose is clunky-to-awful and they invariably lack charm, wit, taste, or imagination. Sigh.
