P.S.

I got my hair cut yesterday and my stylist basically told me that he was going to get his hands on a wall-mounted shadow box with a black velvet in order to sell my kanzashi.

Good thing, too - I'd basically decided to hold off on going to so many cons next year in order to wait for the economy to get a bit better so it would be a better investment of my time and effort. It would be so much less effort to just let him sell the ones I make. :)

I.. I have to admit, if you can make some pretty wysteria-waterfall type kanzashi, I'd totally buy them. >.> I'm wearing my hair up a lot these days, and it could use some prettifying.

I haven't yet managed to make a wysteria waterfall thing that doesn't look horrible - haven't got the knack of it yet. :) I may be forced to break down and buy one for the sole purpose of dissecting it and seeing how to do it.

.. I'll admit, so long as it has dangly shinies, I'd be happy. I'm simple like that. <3

I still have your Etsy shop favourited ^^ - wouldn't that work out in the long run as well?

But other than that, great going ^^

Well, there's the hassle of photographing them, listing them, and then mailing them out, which so far has kept me from listing more. XD But it's also an option, and without the hassle of going to more cons, it might feel more do-able.

And there's the added newness of living together with your boyfriend, as well. Well, you'll see what time you have left for various projects in due course, I expect.

I love your kanzashi, and I hope you do find the time to work with your Etsy store. :) I also have trouble motivating myself to update mine, even when I have new things made, just because I'm a horrible photographer. :(

Side note - I have this vague recollection of you recommending a particular website that you use that sells printer inks. Am I right? If I am, could you remind me of that link? I have a new printer that sucks up ink like WHOA, and I'm looking for other options besides just buying overpriced Epson ink.

Thanks in advance. :)

I've got two sites - SimplyInk (http://www.simplyink.com/) and Carrot Ink (http://www.carrotink.com/). I ordered first from SimplyInk, and then they stopped carrying all the tanks of my ink, so I switched to Carrot Ink. I haven't yet noticed any difference in quality from Epson inks and they're much less expensive. :)

ETA: Aaaaaand I can't see the ink I got from Carrot Ink on their site any longer! *sob*. I may have to move to 123Inkjets.com (http://www.123inkjets.com/Ink-Cartridge,Epson-Ink,Stylus-Photo,1400,3635,printer.html)! Except they're not taking web orders for them. WTF Epson? What's up with that?

Carrot Ink! Yes! Man, you have no idea how hard I've been trying to remember that. I'm an idiot.

Perhaps Click Inks (http://www.clickink.com) has the ink for your printer? I was considering them as well, but I wanted to compare prices with the one you suggested first.

Swear to god, it's cheaper to buy new frigging printers, isn't it?

Ooh, thanks! I'll check them out.

Gah, yes! I've got a cheapass Lexmark that I got with the idea of using the nice Epson only for art prints and the Lexmark for normal printing needs, but it actually costs MORE than the printer cost to get a color and a B&W ink cartridge for it.

Have you had a chance to use the silk? I was just curious if they work for you or not.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2009-08-28 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't been able to do *any* kanzashi* for AnimeFest. I shall be selling the dregs of Tokyo in Tulsa. :) I plan on doing a bunch after the move and messing with the silk at that point.

* And I'm losing one entire day of work this week because SOMEONE is insisting I be somewhere else on Saturday, I hear...

BAhHahAHAHAHAHA!!! It should be full of awesome and you won't regret it. Or maybe it will be full of fail? Anyway we start at 2!

Whether I show really does depend on how much I get done tonight. :)
