Right!

Anyone have any idea how I can get my hands on a bunch of cards with two small parallel cuts in them near one end in LESS THAN A WEEK?

This is such a winner of an idea for packaging the kanzashi I could probably pop the prices up a buck or so if I did it:

(Yeah, the obvious thing would be to get a bunch of cardstock cut at Kinkos - where I could at least have them Xerox my name and a logo or something on to it - and do the parallel slices myself, but that'd be time-consuming. Hmmm. Need to be bigger than business-card size or I'd just just mine.)

I'd say Make a rig out of some thin wood. Dremel the lines in, then exacto the cuts through the dremeled holes. You should be able to cut through 3 at a time if you have a really sharp knife?

A quick google of "jewelry display cards" got me this link: http://www.storesupply.com/c-990-jewelry-cards.aspx
They might have something useful.

Search for "barrette cards" -- Fire Mountain has oval ones, other jewelry-supply wholesalers have oblong ones with precut holes for hanging racks, and there are even places that'll custom-print 'em for you.

And almost forgot to note -- those commercial kanzashi I took pictues of earlier for you? They were shipped clipped onto textued silver foil cards with a single slit cut on one end. It's clearly a canon marketing-display technique! ;)

Hee! Thanks! I just ordered a pack of barrette display cards from Fire Mountain, and bit the bullet and chose Priority shipping in the HOPE that it will ship tomorrow so I can get it Tuesday or Wednesday. If not, well, it's not like I've got without before. :D

I think I'll look at custom-made ones after the con, when I've got the money for it. Something nice, classic, and simple like the one above would be nice, I think.
