Telophase's Massive Manga Dump

Dumping a bunch of my manga that I no longer read, whether it's because I decided I didn't like it after reading 1 or 2 issues, or because I thought it was good but not good enough to read again, or because I have duplicates.

Up for sale or swap with manga, books, or interesting stuff - if you want to buy, it's $5/each just because it's a nice round number and about half the price of them normally. Or, hell, just make an offer, I'll probably accept it to get them the hell out of the apartment unless someone else trumps you with a bigger offer. :) Either post here or email telophase14 {at} gmail {dot} com.

My current wish list consists solely of Vagabond 12 , Rurouni Kenshin 6 , and Usagi Yojimbo 6, but feel free to let me know of anything you've got, including paperbacks and random interesting stuff. :)

[ edit 1 ] Also check the comments for things other people have up for trade.
[ edit 2 ] I've dropped my address into the friendslocked post after this one, with all comments screened so that you can drop your address there with impunity.

Notes:

[*] (Descendants of Darkness) Yes, I'm getting rid of it - I can't tell who any of the characters are, nor do I care. I'll probably Netflix the DVDs, though, since I've heard they're better than the manga.

[**] (Lupin III) I wanted to like this, I really did. I love the Lupin III movies and the TV episodes I've seen, but the manga didn't do a thing for me. I probably have book 4 around here somewhere, but I'll be damned if I know where.

[***] (Megatokyo) 376/500, signed by Largo. No, I wasn't impressed, either.

[****] (Dance Till Tomorrow) I've got most of the rest of them, but they're in boxes in my mom's house. It's also got a lot of semi-explicit sex in it - a hard R rating, I think.

[*****] (Dolls) This is not the Tokyopop DOLL, it's the VIZ Dolls, which is actually much the same thing only the dolls are plants instead of robots.

I will reach the end of Fushigi Yugi soon and will want more Yu Watase crack; should I go with Ceres Celestial Legend or Imadoki? I know little about either series, but I will trade for whichever you favor (if either). I'm also interested in Descendants of Darkness.

Manga-wise, I have Hellsing #1, Rune Soldier #2, and The Aromatic Bitters by Erica Sakurazawa. And I have LOTS of random books and junk, but here's the start of my "sell on Half.com ASAP" pile: Brown Girl in the Ring by Nalo Hopkinson, UK edition of Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, UK edition of Can You Keep A Secret? by Sophie Kinsella, Angel: The Longest Night ("Angel" pro-fanfic collection), Fables: Storybook Love & Fables: Animal Farm (tradebacks #2 & #3), and an unopened DVD of Ever After.

Ceres is more on the magical side of things, while Imadoki is a highschool romance. I found the main character of Ceres slightly less irritating than the main character of Imadoki. :)

I've already read or rejected your manga ;), but I'm interested in the two Fables and the Hopkinson.

more books, for anyone

Cause Celeb by Helen Fielding and an audibook CD version of Storm Front by Jim Butcher (autographed by him), read by James Marsters. It is a giant audiobook white elephant on my shelf and I want it gone.

* and I meant to say that those two and the Hopkinson sound like a good swap for DoD and whatever other one you wnat.

Thank you! I'll take DoD and Ceres, then; I'm a sucker for magical melodrama. I'll get Fables and Brown Girl in the mail to you next week. I enjoyed them, but not enough to keep them.

No prob! You probably know of the existence of the address post by now - I'll get the package off Monday, hopefully.

Just a tag to let you know I got your manga-package in the mail and sent your package off yesterday. wasn't certain if you'd said you wanted $ for the bookmark (OMG SO CUTE) or not, so I'll mail that later in an envelope if so. Thank yoooou!

Ever since your "Fruits Basket" layout post I spend too much time noticing how confusingly the panels are laid out in "Descendants of Darkness", but it's still cracktastic. :D And Aya in "Ayashi no Ceres" didn't immediately make me want to hit her like Miaka did!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-06-22 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, don't worry. ;) I've been OMG BAD and run late in mailing lots of things out, so I'm tossing extras into just about every package that goes out of here at the moment, so we'll just call it that. :)

DoD was just starting to drive me crazy, plus I couldn't keep the characters straight and realized that I didn't care about any of them, so I decided it wasn't worth dropping any more money into it. I think I'll Netflix the DVDs though, since I've heard that the anime solved a lot of the problems that the manga had.
