Last part, with a few pictures from A Fan's View. I went through ALL the cosplay pictures trying to find the Death Note cosplayers, but no dice. Ah well, there are costumes I remember that didn't get on the many, many pages of photos, and costumes on those pages that I don't remember seeing at all.

Because I had no camera, I have to rely on the guy who does A Fan's View to highlight some cosplayers that I know or that I thought were really good or have somethng funny to say or WHATEVER.

A pretty good Rock Lee and Kakashi. For those of you who don't watch or read Naruto, Kakashi is addicted to porn manga and carries a book around all the time, which means that most of the Kakashi cosplayers blundered about with books in front of their faces.

Sometimes the biggest part of the cosplay is how you fill out the costume.

What a coincidence! The "what the hell this is" is a youma from The Twelve Kingdoms. You want to watch (http://www.livejournal.com/users/sub_divided/40328.html?nc=5) now, I'm sure.

I tried watching it, I did! And I couldn't get into it, because none of the characters did a thing for me, which is a deal-killer for me, unfortunately. :(

Ahhh. That's because one of the major themes of Juuni Kokki is becoming a better person. Almost every major character is unlikeable in their first appearance, but you eventually do like them, and not because you got used to them either. Because they change.

As cool as this is, there *is* a lot of overhead. I'm not sure I could have watched if I hadn't had all of the episode to watch at once.

I can understand that, but it'd still be damn hard for me to get into it when all I'm thinking through the first episodea is that if I turned it off I could be doing soemthing else and having a better time. :)

By the way, the Death Note cosplayers were

That Tsunade...er...well, I'll defend to the death any large person's right to cosplay as someone tiny and/or scantily-tho-decently-clad if they want to--especially if they actually put some effort into the costume and don't carry one of those goddamn fucking "glomp me signs" ::strangles::--so I suppose it'd be hypocritical of me to boggle at the tall, slender, modestly endowed Tsunade. >_>

Still, given that there are a lot more tall, skinny characters to cosplay than large-breasted women with proportionately large bodies, you gotta wonder why she picked that one. Maybe she was Tsunade on Chouji's scary pills?

I was wondering that myself. Maybe she wanted to do a Naruto character and didn't waht to dye her blonde hair or wear a wig?

It's certainly not a bad costume by any means - she did a great job with it. It's just that with a whole wide variety of possibilities open to her as a tall, thin woman, she chooses Tsunade? I can't tell her age at all from the pic - maybe she wanted to cosplay someone closer to her age than the average anime character, or perhaps Tsunade is very close to her personality and she wanted to cosplay her because of that. I think I'd at least have stuffed my bra, though. :)

That Sanzo/Goku pair and the Sexy no Jutsu are the greatest things I have ever seen. Greater than the Grand Canyon, I say! (Especially Sanzo's hair, for some reason.)

I think I would enjoy cosplaying, but I'd want to go as someone I vaguely physically resembled and I can't think offhand of any 6-foot-tall anime females with short brown hair who I like enough to dress up as for a day (I haven't even bothered to look for plump tall brunette anime females). Ah well, I could always go as Jeep. "Yes, I am supposed to be a tiny white squeaky dragon, punk. Wanna make something of it?"

Hi, sort of stumbled onto this journal searching for A-kon photos.

First time cosplaying; I was that Sanzo. XD;; Very surprised to find a pic of us online so quickly [sort of]. But yeah, the scale is SO off. XD

My friend there loves Goku to death and he wouldn't change his mind and do somebody like Gojyo [he already had the hair for it :D].
I thought that the proportions would look funny and boy am I right seeing us side by side. *sweatdrop*

Heeee, the wacked-out proportions are what make y'all adorable! :D And you make a wicked Sanzo with the snarky hair (don't ask me how the hair is snarky, it just is) and the clenched cigarette and the Glare of Sex/Death. :D

You guys are hysterical. I actually think it's easier to pull off something over-the-top wrong as that then if you're just not quite right, if that makes sense.

You guys had the important part nailed, which was the personalities. The height discrepancy just made you more entertaining and memorable - I remember you from the three seconds I saw you walk by my Komik Market table (I was right across from the DDR machine). :D

I think I'm going to try Miroku sometime, because at least I'm short and have dark hair. I might try a crossplayed Wolfwood some day-- but that'll be Remix!Wolfwood, not an attempt at canon!Wolfwood.

What I need is for an anime with a big Victorian style dress in it to be released so I can do that. I'm short and rather round, but I can look good in (and sew!) a corset.

Meine Leibe? Ah, but there aren't any women, heh. I suppose if you found a D you could cosplay as historical backdrop. XD I have D hair but I so lack the body...

I actually cosplayed as Charlotte Elbourne from Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust a few years ago, and I've wanted to do her wedding dress from the movie, but I don't really want to go around in large amounts of white and cream because they look horrid in snapshot photographs. And of course, cosplay is all about the number of people who stop you and ask you to pose. XD

You could always take elephants!

You know, the table cover I brought to A-Kon was covered in elephants. XD It was a bit of swag that a graduating Indian grad student who worked for me at my last job gave me - it's a thing they put over their sheets in the summer to keep the dust off. Cottonish fabric, with a black border around it, and black elephants stamped on it.

Sorry, digression on elephants there. :)

Are there any 6-feet-tall anime males with short brown hair that you like? :)
