"For that matter, you could define diabetes as one end of the spectrum of behavior of the pancreas."
--Harriet Hall, over on Science-Based Medicine, among the comments. The post is by Hall, about psychiatry-bashing. (Yoon, some of the comments will make you sporky!)
Reposting here because I'm going to have to remember that quote for the next person who says ADD is merely one end of a spectrum of behavior of attention, as if it's supposed to make it OK that I can barely function in some important areas of life. Gosh! Out in the bush when being stalked by a leopard, ADD makes it easier to survive! Yeah, but HERE and NOW it's a liability.

Which means that every month, my account increased by about $7 and change, as that's the water and random-fee difference on the water/trash bill. :D I get a reminder once a week from them, and eventually pay the extra every few months when I'm in the office for something. And I finally just upped my rent payment by $8, to account for the discrepancy. XD

I had a goddamn TEACHER in high school, when I mentioned having a minor disorder that slows down my handwriting speed,* reply, "Then why are you in my honors class?" And, to add injury to insult, he kept acting like an asshole to me for a solid quarter (9 weeks), until I eventually dropped the class.
If I ever see that son of a bitch now that I've long since graduated, I'll have to work very hard to keep from killing him.
*: My ADD didn't worsen...or the assignments didn't get difficult enough...or both...to the point of seriously interfering with my ability to function until I was a sophomore at the college I'm currently attending.
