LJ Move!

Tomorrow, LJ is doing a massive server move and will be offline for four hours (possibly less, possibly more), starting 11 AM EST/8 AM PST. They're also bringing it up slowly, rather than all at once, so it may take a while for all functions to be enabled.

Today might be a good time to back up your LJ: LJ-Archive and other options are out there. (ETA: Check the comments before asking me if you can upload stuff with LJ-Archive; I don't want to repeat myself five thousand times.)

Hee! It's been a couple of months since I've backed up mine, so I might as well.

Hmmmmmmm, is there a system as yet for uploading backups of LJ entries, short of pasting them all in individually? Should an LJ server-move squash your journal, or should you want to port your journal en masse to journalfen or whatnot, it would come in very handy.

There is, because I used it the last time I backed up LJ, but I have NO IDEA which program it is, since it's been too long. :D I used it to upload everything tagged with "art" to JF, and to upload ... everything? I don't remember ... to InsaneJournal. Diligent Googling will probably reveal it.

I googled like a good little soldier but haven't turned up anything beyond the plugins for userpics usage tracking and for psychoanalyzing your entries (most. useless. plugin. ever). And a bunch of shady-looking programs in Russian. Oh, well, if you turn it up again, let us know.

With lj-Archive I haven't been able to get a full connection to the server that lets me load all of my entries. The best I've gotten in the last four days was half my entries and all my comments. Sometimes I've gotten considerably less.
