Hmmm, just how are they classifying "scientist"? Would that include - for example - a practicing geneticist? Or would they have to be more of a researcher/experimenter type than someone actually applying their science in an occupational context?

Several come to mind, but most of them are less on the theoretical/experimental and more on the practical applciation of their field.

That's quite a short list - must be new.

I added Dr. Gillian Baskin from David Brin's Uplift series, and Dr. Moira Zymph from David Gerrold's War vs. the Chtorr series.
