Head still hurts. Relpax yesterday worked for yesterday, can't take another one until this afternoon sometime. Eating, drinking caffeine, and taking four Advil managed to reduce the headache to bearable level (i.e., I can ignore it if I'm doing something). Aarg.

Impulse spending = symptom of ADD, symptoms of which get much much worse during migraines = going out at 7:30 PM and buying supplies to make kanzashi instead of making prints. *headdesk* Partially made two, would have finished them if hot glue gun had actually worked. Getting replacement gun today.

It's useful that there's a name for those things you stick in your hair, isn't it? I once made myself a honkingly big one for my brother-in-law's wedding, for which I was an attendant. All the other attendants had long hair and were having the classic Victorian-ish hairstyle made by pulling the front bits back into a clasp of some sort on the back of the head, and letting the rest lie loose. They all had big satin hair bows that matched the dresses, which were a deep peacock shade. So I got some scraps of satin from the dressmaker and some florist silk leaves, and made a big satin half-opened rose-thing, with mini fake pearl beading along the edges of the petals, and fastened it firmly to the side of my cropped head with a sturdy clip. It came out pretty well, actually.

So sorry about your poor head!

The head is surprisingly much better now, but I shall be eating lunch early and snacking through the afternoon to prevent any sort of blood-sugar-crash headache, which quite frequently trigger migraines or make existing ones worse.

It figures that I conceive a desire to make these folding-fabric flower things when my hair is all short, isn't it? XD But I think, provided I can get my battery-operated glue gun to work, that it would be a nifty thing to do at my table at cons.

If your hair is not really short you might be able to scoop up enough of it with a comb to support one?

It's also very, very fine and combs tend to fall out fairly quickly. But I went by the craft store at lunch and found some small clips that, if I don't load them down too much with heavy fabric flowers, ought to stay.

I think I'll make some and put them on the table and see if anyone buys. Hopefully it'll fund itself. XD

Let me know if you get to a point where you feel like you might be up to doing commissions...the infamous Hello Kitty yukata set despeartely needs something very, very girlish to round out my accessories properly. XD

I hope I'll be able to - the small flower I did last night (minus hot-gluing* it to something) looks really cute. XD Once I get used to making them and get a good idea of the sizes and number of petals that look good, and a couple different ways of making petals, I can start looking at ways to combine them. XD

* What, use rice paste? Oh, hell no! XD
