Well, at least I got something useful out of today - I can sell this print at A-Kon. TEH SEKRIT PROJEKT is slightly stalled because IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE. Will finish that up this weekend. THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION.

he looks so annoyed XD Which is more in character than ones of him looking like "I'm a rabbit caught in the headlights of your sexual intent"....though, those have a quality all to their own~

*scurries*

Heehee, thanks! :)

I would buy it. In fact, do you sell prints online (nooo must save for Scotland noooo!! *resists the pretty*)

I love the hunch of his shoulders, and his billowy cape.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I certainly say I sell pritns online, although I haven't yet actually sold one that way.

Thanks!

Nice!

Um, your name (on the pic and your website) is familiar. Might I be familiar with your postings on Usenet? (Conversely, is my name totally unfamiliar to you?)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! And yes, you're familiar, but I can't quite figure out which Usenet/mailing list thing you're familiar from - I posted on a number of groups on Usenet a *lot* more back in 1994-97, and have more-or-less lurked (with the occasional post) on rec.arts.sf.fandom and .composition since. And I've been on-and-off the Lois McMaster Bujold mailing list since 1994 (eleven years! gah!).

[identity profile] rurounitriv.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
*new stalker pops out of lurkdom* The pose is just so Ed, and I like the way that you have the array on an angle, it balances him out nicely. :)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! My first thought was to do that snake-on-cross symbol (er, I don't watch much FMA, have only read the scanlations a looong time ago, so I'm out of touch with the details), and cant it and use it like his shadow, but when I realized I could do the array entirely digitally and not have to draw anything, it won out because I r lazy. XD O the deep, dark, mysteries of art!

[identity profile] yhlee.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, nice!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Thansk! :D

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_ri/ 2005-05-13 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'm impressed, very nice! Looks pretty much official. Great job on the boots and posture.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

[identity profile] usmangaka.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, Great work...
But alas! I have painstakingly overanalyzed your print and discovered the one thing that is inaccurate!
His pocket watch should be silver, rather than the gold/bronze tint I see in your work.
Mwahahaha. The soup is mine!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
XD You have uncovered my DEEP DARK SEKRIT - I've only ever seen three episodes of FMA, and I'm more familiar with the black-and-white manga than I am the color anime, so ... I hazarded a guess and got it wrong. :)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
THank you!

I adore him. I've never met him. You are completely corrupting me.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Heehee. The Fullmetal Alchemist anime is airing on Adult Swim on Saturday nights ... er *was* airing - they've temporarily halted to catch up with the dubs, I think, but the first 3 DVDs are out. And the first volume of the manga was recently published.

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Fullmetal Alchemist is my favorite anime series. Watch it on DVD, and instead of selecting "subtitle" from the menu, hit the subtitle button on your remote, and then you will get the non-dumbed-down subtitles. The Japanese voice cast is great, and you wouldn't want to miss them. Here's an excellent, non-spoilery overview:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/rushthatspeaks/98428.html

I didn't like the first volume of the manga as much, but it may improve.

PS. Lovely print-- I'd buy it. But his watch chain needs to be silver.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, the watch chain thing was already pointed out, BEE-YATCH!! I was working from the manga! I HAD TO GUESS!!!!!! *falls over in a froth*

PS. I got Officiamal Permission to go to Internet Librarian in Monterey, so I wil fer sure be at Yaoi-Con in SF - IL ends on that Wednesday, so I'll drive the rental car up to SF on Thursday morning, and be at the con hotel from Thursday on Sunday. I may turn the car in Friday morning and use it to do sightseeing-type things on Thursday, since the con doesn't start til Friday.

oh. oh. [sound of brain fizzling]

my husband will be in LA next week at E3 (do you know E3?)--I will see if he can get me a copy (I am sending him with a rather long list)

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
What's E3?

He could try Amoeba Records in Hollywood, or several places I could recommend in West LA-- actually, I could probably recommend an anime supplier anywhere in LA.

If you ever come here, I would love to take you out and/or show you the city.

[personal profile] ewein2412 2005-05-13 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Why, thank you! Ditto for you should you come to Scotland!

E3 is THE big games industry convention/show/trade fair. Tim laughed at me when I said WorldCon was big. (These guys have money).

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2005-05-13 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I would love to visit Scotland. Hodder & Stoughton asked if I would be willing to tour, which I really really hope means they might send me on tour. I told Brian to please concentrate on countries which are great tourist destinations, like all the glamourous cities of Europe, when deciding where to sell the next set of foreign rights.

ha! good idea!
ewein2412: (Default)

where he'll really be

[personal profile] ewein2412 2005-05-14 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
He is staying in Santa Monica. The convention is in the center of LA--is there a big convention center (a MASSIVELY big convention center?) It's there.
