These certainly are stunning. I watched most of the ceremony this afternoon on TV (no work and too lazy to go out), but you couldn't see so much detail. I must have come in after the massed drummers and the blokes in grey with pointy things on their heads. It was pretty amazing. I loved the colours and the shaded effects on some of the costumes. There was one bit where a man in a white robe was painting a giant ink-brush drawing, and the long sleeve of his robe was shaded grey, as if he had dipped it in the ink.
Y'all should be able to watch the opening ceremony on TV tonight as well - 7:30 PM ET/PT on NBC (http://www.nbcolympics.com/?__source=ggl|olympics|Olympics|Olympics+-+General&cid=ggl|olympics|Olympics|Olympics+-+General).
Most of those photos gave me goose bumps. *still getting them thinking about it* How amazing....I can't even imagine. It's going to sound weird, but I love uniformity in photos - and the Chinese do such an amazing job (though isn't that kind of scary?).
