Sometimes it's really hard to tell when a DeviantArt user is uploading stolen art.





I'd never have known that was stolen if I hadn't recognized Paintpixel's work.

I appreciate the defensiveness of the titles "its messed up but i drew it" and "gaara s*ct*l* style."

(And then you click on "gaara s*ct*l* style" and he says "this is my friend's work." So many layers of deceit!)

I think I shall view him as performance art.

His work is a postmodern response to the performance of traditional Western models of authorship, identity, and personal responsibility in our present age of remixes and flash-mobs.
