Blah

Have asthmatic bronchitis for the second time in two years. Am now on prednisone again, for a short run. Or will be, starting tonight. IIRC, last time I was on prednisone it gave me such a burst of energy that (a) my ADD nearly incapacitated me and (b) I came up with all sorts of insanely good ideas that ALL needed to be worked on RIGHT NOW and I utterly failed to follow through on any of them.

So. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to tell me to wait until next week, when I'm off it, if I start posting about all sorts of insane projects and ideas.* ESPECIALLY if I start posting about buying things for all sorts of insane projects and ideas.

* Exceptions: doujinshi, pictures for the PBR chapbook, story for the PBR chapbook, keychains and phone straps for A-Kon, drummer picture. Those are all projects in various stages of already-started and already-purchased and I'm hoping to use the energy boost to focus on *them* and not all the new projects that will occur to my overheated brain. If another project lasts until next week, it might be something that will actually get done.

Oh, man. I'm sorry. Will monitor you for wacky behavior, or try! Get better soon~

:D All the ideas I came with were good ones, IIRC, but I had *way* too much on my plate to be able to do them. XD I'm hoping not to, say, hit the craft store and buy $150 worth of knitting supplies with the full intent of learning to knit, because it'll all end up sitting around and gathering dust. XD

I bet the *real* problem is when I get the great idea and fail to post to LJ before going out. XD I shall endeavour to do LJ sanity-checking before doing anything. XD

I hear you. (Been there, done similar things. When's the last time I had time to do silk-painting?--That was from a crafting binge in college. College.)

LJ is your friend!

I stand by ready to assist!

I took some weird antibiotic one time (Cypro) and it gave me temporary ADD. I had no attention span whatsoever--I ended up watching Sesame Street because they would change topics just as I hit maximum frustration point. I could not read, cook, or do anything. I just....could not focus. Very hard to explain. One of the worst weeks of my life. Sending enormous sympathy vibes.

And soon, I hope, a small furry companion.

Yay! :D Last time, my brain was whirring and I couldn't even get *started* on anything. Luckily, I've got the first page of the dj final-pencilled and the pp2-3 spread ready to start in on, and the rest stacked by to go, so I'm hoping to turn the energy to that. After a recommendation from a friend, I downloaded a guided-imagery relaxation mp3 thing* yesterday, and it really seemed to calm me down and get me focused and elss anxious, so my Grand Plan is to attempt to listen to it whenever I start flying apart.

I await with anticipation!

* ok, I admit, it's a self-hypnosis thing.

Sounds like the night I was vainly trying to watch "Star Trek" while buzzed out of my gourd on a bunch of generic allergy meds and an herbal sleep aid.

It was one of the episodes where they were on the planet of the acute overapplication of self-tanner. And though I tried and tried, I could not understand what the characters were saying. I felt like if I could focus just a little harder, I could hear the dialogue. I flipped through the channels, only to have the same problem. I could tell that the people on the screen were speaking, but it was all jibberish. Somehow, the cocktail of drugs had so scrambled my brain that I could not understand English. After what had to be the longest episode of Star Trek in the history of mankind, I gave up and fell asleep there on the couch. When I came to the next morning, I discovered in my panic and zest for late 60's scifi, I had turned the TV volume up to maximum. The whole neighborhood probably heard it, just not me.

Oh noes! telophase on crack! I will do my best to watch for anything too weird ... .

(On the other hand, maybe we'll get some really awesum conbini gameplay ... .)

XD

Feel better!

:D I didn't even realize it was the prednisone ramping up my ADD until halfway through the course, last time. XD

(Maybe so! Or maybe I won't be able to focus long enough to come up with a coherent post! XD)

That sounds like the PERFECT mindset for method-RPing another visit from Yachiru! ;)

Just don't buy any llamas, as a probably bipolar person I know once did. As Poppy Z. Brite said in another context, that's what's known as a "wake-up call."

I shall endeavor to avoid purchasing any quadrupeds.

And no pianos! Absolutely no impulse pianos!!

No pianos! Also no trips to space, no unicycles, and no stuffed crocodiles!

I remember being on prednisone for bronchitis back in 2002. It was the best high I ever had. I felt so good it was SCARY!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-03-25 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I really liked the energy itself; too bad I couldn't turn it on only 1 or 2 things!

And luckily prednisone has some scary side effects (including kicking my mom's bloop pressure up really high), so I am NOT TEMPTED to attempt to abuse it at all.

ETA: Just noticed the typo. It's silly enough I'm leaving it. XD

You're a tea drinker, aren't you? Because tea helps with the bronchial stuff.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-03-29 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, good thought. Although I won't indulge tonight because all I have is caffeinated tea and I need to go to bed in an hour or so. But tomorrow... :D (And I forgot Mom gave me some of the honey that she bought from her contractor, who also keeps bees. That's good for the throat!)

[identity profile] lady-ganesh.livejournal.com 2008-03-29 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Honey is as good a cough suppresant as real cough suppresant* apparently.

*I am tired and can no longer spell.
