Here is the biggest problem I see with the translation: Rem. How are the translators going to handle the revelation of Rem's gender? I think the Japanese uses gender-neutral terms that we don't have in English. Hrrrm. Maybe they'll just have everyone mistake Rem for male, and Rem not call them on it.

Was that really supposed to be a surprise? 'Cause maybe it's my lack of manga experience, but I pegged the reapers genders right off the bat: My thinking was Ryuk = king = male. So, having established that, I just thought the more delicate and willowy Rem looked female, not "oh, Rem's a younger, bishier version of Ryuk, and therefore also male."

I was surprized. Rem is the second reaper to "fall" for Misa, so I assumed Rem was male like Zealous/Jealous was. Misa also assumed that Rem was male, and was surprised to learn that she is female. I wasn't going by looks since it's hard to tell, with Shinigami (and also the latest volume has a rule that they can't have sex, haha, so maybe they aren't "really" male or female at all.)

And: A shinigami is "bish"? That's sort of...bishonen means unbelieveably beautiful in an androgynous way, I don't think it applies to the extremely bizzare looking shinigami.

I probably should have included a smiley... XD
