I have, here on my desk, a bacon chocolate bar (http://www.vosgeschocolate.com/product/bacon_exotic_candy_bar/exotic_candy_bars). It is fairly good, provided you like bacon. I will not be eating large amounts of it at once partly because it's milk chocolate and I ahve that whole "lactose intolerance" thing, and partly because it's way too rich to do so. It had a decided aftertaste of bacon, although it's not so prominent when first biting into it.
After the debauchery of last weekend (Snickers pancakes, etc.), I have been attempting to be very good this week.
It is very, very hard to stay out of a box of Ethel M's chocolate stribboned pecan brittle on Valentine's Day, when your S.O. doesn't even bother to call.
The good part about the sampler of exotic chocolate bars I got is that most of them are milk chocolate, so I can keep myself down to very small nibbles.
And then I got a chicken salad sandwich from the Bistro upstairs, ate it, went to log the calories and discovered the fucker had 510 calories in it. Gah.
Ouch. I had one at Cafe Eccell for lunch, and have been trying to figure out how many calories to assign it. Guess this means it's salad and peas for dinner!
I guess it's got lots of real mayo in it or something. Oh, well, yeah and the CROISSANT the chicken salad was on, now that I come to think of it. *duh*
The one good thing about TCU's food service company, is that they've got a database online of the food they serve and what the nutritional info is. Once I worked out that the sushi rolls were only 300ish calories, I felt much better about eating them. :)
