Especially for yhlee: a list of over 600 works of mathematical fiction from 414 BCE to 2008. (I expect their criteria is "has math or a mathematician in it somewhere" rather than "is based heavily in math", but it's certainly a place to start looking.)

You're absolutely right about the criteria, and even then, they're being applied loosely. The Disposessed is a "mathematical fiction" work? Shevek is a physicist, dudes ... .
