Results of weekend-long mad cleaning spree:

Living/TV area: clean and tidy, except for handheld vacuum claener and box in middle of floor.

Kitchen: clean & tidy except for small pile of boxes of garbage bags on floor.

Bathroom: clean & tidy (with shiny baseboards!)

Bedroom: clean & tidy except for bedside table with stuff piled on it, suitcase with stuff piled in it, loveseat with clothes-for-Goodwill piled on it, and vacuum cleaner in corner. We won't mention the closet.

Studio/work area: pigsty still, but less so than before.

Storage/exercise* area: pigsty still.

Cat: kind of freaked out.

Me: tired, sore, achy, and with a headache from not enough sleep. (woke up Sunday after 5 hours, but didn't go to bed last night early enough to make up for it.) Plus with vague idea for Bleach fic, which I am not quite sure yet is ready for committing to pixels in any way, including notes.

ETA: P.S. Don't ask me about my car; I don't know anything more yet and I'm tired of talking about it.

* The living room is obnoxiously long and completely useless for arranging in such a way as to utilize it well, so I solved that problem some time ago by blocking off part of it with shelves and a screen and piling stuff back there.

It sounds lovely. It's taken me a while to figure out that I can't clean the studio in the middle of a project if I expect to get any work done. I must only clean between projects. Also, I can't work on a perfectly clean desk.

I'm sure this says a loooooooooot about my brain, lol. Also? Do you stack piles around your studio space like a little set of walls made of reference material? Please tell me I'm not the only one.

I stack lots of reference material around me. It tends not to end in piles, but in heaps, because the stacks totter and fall over, or the cat knocks them over.

Hm...the way my desk is set up right now, I've got space behind my monitor where it backs up to the wall. I wonder if I can get a couple of bookends and shelve reference material for whatever current project is going on there? Certainly within arm's reach...worth a try.

I can't put ref material in the space it usually goes in now, because I moved the Kitty Condo cat-thing there, and the cat looooooves to sit on it, because it puts her within scritching distance, and makes me feel less like I'm ignoring her while I'm working.

I also cleaned this weekend, though apparently not as assiduously as you.

Most chores don't bother me, except for dishes. I hate doing the dishes. I have to bargain with myself in order to get them done. However, once I suck it up and wash, it's usually a catalyst to get everything else done in short order.

Once I manage to get started, I don't actually mind doing the dishes. But getting started is like pulling teeth.

I don't really mind the cleaning part of cleaning; it's the "finding places for stuff that never had a home to start with" and "sorting through piles of stuff to see what's trash and what isn't" and "taking trash to the dumpster" that I hate.

Unfortunately, I am enough of a slob that getting everything done in short order cannot happen. It's always a very long order.

Oh good, someone besides me went on a domesticity spree this weekend. I feel better now.

(I have wire organizers in my pantry. Send help.)

Yup. And I even found the CDs I'd backed up my mp3s on, so I could start putting music onto the new iPod. :D I got things accomplished this weekend!

Been gone for 10 days so just read about the car. Hope all goes well; I also have USAA. Not everyone qualifies for that, you know. Luckily I've never had to file a claim so I am curious to know how things go for you.

*bwahaha*

I ALSO cleaned this weekend o_o; [did everyone on your flist clean I wonder?]

I sorted and put the papers I have for school from under my bed into the draws I got for them. I also cleaned under my bed.

Now next weekend I need to sort my 'food corner' of my Dorm-Room, and vacuum/sweep my floor & rug.

I didn't clean, except for a couple of tiny things ... but I had a good excuse.

There's a movement afoot in our game group to have us host the annual gift exchange party. And that will mean painful amounts of cleaning, at least on the main floor, basement rec room, and guest room (because that would probably include my sis-in-law's staying over to help).
