The disadvantage of working in a library...
...is that when you have one idea to add flavor to the story you're writing that will take up, at most, one short paragraph (if that), you end up collecting four books on the subject and piling them on your desk along with the six already there on various subjects that will hopefully spark more ideas.

And...I seem to have achieved breakthrough! with my Yuletide idea so this may actually happen. Yey!

Mind you, I'm working pretty hard at replacing them with new books...

Love that icon!
You just need to work in a more boring library. I can almost guarantee that the Louis Loss Library would have nothing to add to your story, unless it was something from a general basic reference. My home library, on the other hand ... .

Hee. I've already plundered my own library for anything the least bit appropriate. And today at lunch I went and bought the book by the guy who started NaNoWriMo. Not because I'm planning on doing NaNoWriMo, but because I love reading books about writing, and one of the things that gets me motivated is reading books about writing. As long as they're not filled with dull exercises like "Finish this sentence: 'I believe...'" and "Write a descriptive paragraph abut yourself." :)
I did come across an interesting writing exercise when I was poking about the Net earlier today, but if I post it here it will, literally, clue in my recipient if they happen by. :D
