[livejournal.com profile] yuletide so far? Characters wandering in search of a plot. *sigh* Have stuffed brain with lots of fodder in hope that it spits up something useful while asleep or in those twilight moments between awake and asleep. Am not too optimistic, really, as it wants to dwell on Bleach instead.

Not only is mine characters in search of a plot, but my subconscious just helpfully provided me with a scene which I kind of like, but has nothing whatsoever to do with the theme or main characters.

Should there be a place or a wiki for yuletide authors to drop off ideas and scenes that don't fit into their fic, in case someone else can use them?

Sort of Boxing Day fic.

Or the deleted scenes extra on a DVD.

For lack of anything better to do, my mind has decided to obsess about a title, of all things.



And I realized that I actually have to do some additional research, which will involve poking about in additional books by The Author (on top of the ones that actually contain the requested characters). The Author is rather careful about world-building details, and the fic had better reflect this in its set up ... .
