At least I'm close to average...

I got a 71.67% on my U.S. Civic Literacy Report.

You answered 43 out of 60 correctly — 71.67 %
Average score for this quiz during September: 75.0%
Average score since September 18, 2007: 75.0%

The amazing thing is that I did that well. I have to have gotten the answers on several more right only through sheer luck. :D Why, yes, I did find my American history, economics, and government classes boring as hell (and had several terrifying flashbacks during the course of taking the quiz).

(And WHY THE HELL has LJ taken to logging me out on my home Firefox installation all the frickin' time? It doesn't do it on my work installation. Aarg.)

I'd expected to do a bit better, really. I'm afraid I'm weak on Just War theory and philosophy.

I got an 80 but insist some of those questions were crap.

Damn it, I would have scored better if those questions were about art history. :(

I was also surprised how well I did... considering I hadn't studied this stuff in... well, many years ;p

Yes, I had flashbacks during this quiz too -- to my time, years back, studying for the Foreign Service exam. I crammed for it by memorizing history timelines. DURING the exam, I basically invented economics, since I had not studied it in any way. The sad thing on the FS exam, I think I scored badly on the cultural questions too -- was unfamiliar with both baseball and Broadway theater! (I was a language major.)

:D I considered taking the FS exam after I'd worked at AT&T for six months after graduation. I was on a team that did nothing but take 15% off phone bills that were supposed to be on a special 15% off plan, and we weren't on the phones, so all we did was subtract 15% all day long. We were allowed to wear headphones, and I started listening to NPR at that point. Eight hours a day of All Things Considered, As It Happens, and all the other news and culte-vulture shows on and I was the most informed and politically aware that I have ever been. That was the only chance I ever had of passing the FS exam. XD
