HELLO WHY YES I AM WIDE AWAKE.
Attempted to go to bed at 3AM, with the aid of NyQuil. Lay there in weird not-asleep state until 6, then decided to get up and force myself to stay awake until bedtime tonight, because it'd be easier than trying to sleep a short time and waking up at 5 PM again.
Now to check what time my grocery store opens because I discovered last night that no, I *don't* actually have another roll of toilet paper like I thought I did.

And man, I hate that (re: phantom roll).

as it's getting along towards evening in Japan but if I go to bed, I'll wake up at 4 or 5 and that would be Very Very Bad. So: attempt to stay up with art or something! And massive application of caffeine! Whee!
The grocery-store trip was pretty silly: pack of toilet paper, four potatoes, three onions, and a small thing of dark chocolate. I guess it's sort of obvious which was the emergency item in that trip. XD

The chocolate? XD
I've had a couple
or five4-pm-wakeup days since the layoff. They're very discombobulating. I keep telling myself I should reset to a more normal schedule, but I'm naturally a nightowl even under normal circumstances, so it's a struggle when I don't have anything external forcing me into a more standard schedule. I mean, I have the class three nights a week, but -- nights. I don't even have to be up until 4 for that. :Pno subject

Although yay for potatoes and chocolate, if one must venture out.no subject
I've some advice that may help, try melatonin. You can buy it in the vitamin section of the pharmacy. Take it 30 minutes before you want to go to sleep, then make sure it's good and dark.
I haven't used it, but Woodchuck and a friend of mine give it high marks, and I'm considering getting some today so I can get myself to sleep at a normal time everyday for work.

If tonight doesn't work out for fixing my sleep schedule, I'll look into the melatonin.
