Our present cat came from a litter of about ten other kittens, all but one or two pretty much identical to her in coloring, when she was very small---maybe six weeks old. She really did believe there was another kitten on the other side of a mirror that leaned against the wall in the bedroom; she would spend ages (in kitten time) playing in front of and "with" the mirror, stalking and batting it, and with a bit of broken hanging wire dangling in front of it.
