Chrysanthemum of Mystery produces a shockwave up to 10 meters in diameter and resembles an oversized, black throwing axe after it is unsealed. Shikai is invoked with the command "Smite, Chrysanthemum of Mystery!"

Seven-form Meditation enhances the wielder's ability to perceive the opponent's intentions and resembles a gigantic, adorable eku as tall as the wielder after it is unsealed. Shikai is invoked with the command "Increase, Seven-form Meditation!"

Poem of Oblivion is carried unsealed, and is a small harpoon which moves faster than the eye can see. It produces a shockwave up to 10 meters in diameter.

This zanpakuto, named Eternal Thunder Whisper, transforms into a flat, ordinary set of brass knuckles which gives an impression that it is always moving at the command "Ring out, Eternal Thunder Whisper!" It produces pulses of ultrasound that liquify small areas of biological cells.

When Saint Punishment is unsealed with the command "Shield!" it transforms into a flat sansetsukon with an elegantly carved handle, and deadens the wielder's pain temporarily.

Shield is carried sealed into the form of a parasol. At the command "Flow, Shield!" it transforms into a short, gigantic sansetsukon with a long chain. It forms an impenetrable shield in front of the wielder when rotated.

Unseal this zanpakuto with the command "Splinter, Mirror Mauler!" It resembles a short, small harpoon and synchronizes repetitive sounds to frequencies which can shatter an opponent's weapon.

Unseen Koi is always activated, and resembles a flat shuriken which moves faster than the eye can see. It enhances the wielder's ability to perceive the opponent's intentions.

Pain Punishment is always activated, and resembles a bent macuahuitl with the hilt decorated with ribbons. It boosts another person's stamina, allowing them to take more damage.

When Desolate Insects is unsealed with the command "Wind!" it transforms into a slender throwing axe which moves faster than the eye can see, and summons a cloud of wasp-like insects whose stings have a euphoric effect.

Annoying Zanpakuto:

Midnight of Hell is always activated, and resembles a blade limned with colored light. It gives the wielder five seconds of limitless spiritual energy before collapsing unconscious.

Earthquake is always activated, and resembles an ordinary jian with a loop of strong cord on the pommel. It allows the wielder to sink into solid surfaces.

Empty Earthquake is carried unsealed, and is a blade of colored light. It creates large holes in the ground.

Fire of Darkness produces a map of the surrounding area within a 100-meter radius, but can only be used once a day and resembles a blade made of liqud after it is unsealed. Shikai is invoked with the command "Surge, Fire of Darkness!" - ph34r my mad mapmaking skillz!

When Desolate Spirit Mauler is unsealed with the command "Scorch!" it transforms into a large bullwhip, and absorbs an opponent's energy to the point of death. - W00T, energy sucking!

This zanpakuto, named Lightning of Hell, transforms into a blade of colored light at the command "Go, Lightning of Hell!" It produces illusory decoys. - I just like the name. Can't go wrong with "of Hell".

Tiger Healer is always activated, and resembles a jagged, perfect set of bolas which throws off sparks. It shoots blasts of spiritual energy.

Balm produces temporary numbness upon impact, disguising the damage dealt by subsequent blows and resembles a slender katar after it is unsealed. Shikai is invoked with the command "Embody, Balm!" - It's wrong that I want to combine this one with the previous and have Tiger Balm, right?

When Tiger of the West Wind is activated with the command "Spring forth, Tiger of the West Wind!" it transforms into a graceful, narrow cleaver with the hilt wrapped in pale leather. It produces illusory decoys. - You cannot deny the snazzy of "Spring forth, Tiger of the West Wind". You just can't.

The zanpakuto Cherry Blossoms uses the command "Speak" to transform into a slender, black urumi which looks lighter than it is. It has two techniques: first, it cages the opponent in vines, and second, it unleashes a poisonous mist in all directions to which the wielder is immune, although the wielder's allies might not be.

The zanpakuto Phantom Meditation uses the command "Sing" to transform into a large warhammer. It has two techniques: first, it increases the wielder's skill, and second, it gives the wielder great skill with the weapon.

Ah well, not much I can do about similar-but-not-exact duplicates. XD

Drunken Earthquake, Crimson Earthquake is carried sealed into the form of a pocketknife. At the command "Chime, Drunken Earthquake, Crimson Earthquake!" it transforms into a magnificent dao with a blade a little wider than normal. It creates large holes in the ground.

I believe these stand on their own:

Graceful Ice Cherry produces a woven cage of brambles and resembles a small, square myrmex which is covered in razor-sharp spikes after it is unsealed. Shikai is invoked with the command "Display, Graceful Ice Cherry!"

Bone like Stone is carried unsealed, and is a white sansetsukon with a substantial handle. It produces a map of the surrounding area within a 100-meter radius, but can only be used once a day.

Maybe it increases the wielder's skill at OTHER THINGS.

When Lightning like Moonlight is activated with the command "Uncoil, Lightning like Moonlight!" it transforms into a cloud of tiny blades in the air about the wielder. It increases the wielder's reflexes. - When surrounded by a cloud of tiny blades, good reflexes are a must.

"...of the West Wind" produces some of the best names, I've found.

AND ... "Tiger" and "Balm" are in different word files, so yes: there is a less-than-impossible chance that one day, some click of the generator will produce Tiger Balm. :D

The zanpakuto Autumn Mistress uses the command "Reveal" to transform into a cute throwing axe which moves faster than the eye can see. It has two techniques: first, it produces deep slumber in an opponent, and second, it enhances the wielder's ability to perceive the opponent's intentions. - I'd be much more impressed by the second ability if the opponent wasn't asleep.

Hell's Hail of Hell is carried sealed into the form of a pocketknife. At the command "Rip, Hell's Hail of Hell!" it transforms into a segmented, graceful bullwhip with the handle wrapped in cloth. It forms a sheet of ice on any surface the wielder wishes.

Could ONLY be improved by having to say "Hail, Hell's Hail of Hell!"

SAY THAT THREE TIMES FAST!

Infinite Head is carried sealed into the form of an umbrella. At the command "Liberate, Infinite Head!" it transforms into a fancy, square tessen with an elegantly carved handle. It produces illusory decoys.

Seven-form Midnight Cherry is carried unsealed, and is an oversized spear as tall as the wielder. It emits spores that have a damaging effect.

(I really need to quit reloading and go to bed... XD)

And this one's another good one...

Unseen Winter Tide is always activated, and resembles a perfect, segmented sword-breaker which has a blade as long as the wielder's forearm. It turns an area of solid matter, up to 1 meter in diameter, into water.

Catfish can never NOT bring the funny. I mean, it just instantly gives one the image of someone wielding a giant catfish, and D00D. >XD

Ecstatic Catfish Barrier is carried unsealed, and is a cloud of tiny blades in the air about the wielder. It deflects missiles.

... but presumably it only deflects any happy fish that your opponent happens to pelt you with. :-)

Or maybe the barrier is happy that it can perform the service of deflecting catfish?

When Sacred Wisteria Meditation is unsealed with the command "Manifest!" it transforms into a graceful nodachi with a blade a little wider than normal, and narrows the focus of the wielder, minimizing the impact of distractions - pretty cool!

Willow is always activated, and resembles a mighty naginata taller than the wielder. It allows the wielder to strike with inhuman precision - another goodie

Heaven's Cyclone is carried sealed into the form of a paintbrush. At the command "Rise, Heaven's Cyclone!" it transforms into a cute war fan. It unleashes a narrow bolt of air which can cut the opponent - I think this one is yours, telophase-san!

The zanpakuto Threefold Earthquake like Midnight uses the command "Fulfill" to transform into a gigantic sarissa. It has two techniques: first, it turns the ground beneath an opponent's feet to lava, and second, it turns the ground beneath an opponent's feet to mud - I guess the mud would feel pretty good after the lava!

This zanpakuto, named Feather of the West Wind, transforms into an old-fashioned meteor hammer with a razor-sharp spiked weight at the command "Demolish, Feather of the West Wind!" It produces a harmonic capable of shattering stone - I like that one ... all kinds of irony in the name.

I can see that this is going to be hours of fun!

And wait until I get the silly one made up. XD

Lotus Haze is carried unsealed, and is a graceful, substantial quarterstaff taller than the wielder. It produces a mist that obscures the wielder. - Sometimes they work together just right. XD

When Jade Cherry Blossoms Cage is activated with the command "Crush, Jade Cherry Blossoms Cage!" it transforms into an old-fashioned, short war fan. It causes the battle to be graced by falling flower petals. - *snerk*

The zanpakuto Burning Earthquake uses the command "Shout" to transform into a small, graceful cleaver with the hilt wrapped in pale leather. It has two techniques: first, it enlarges cracks in any solid material to their maximum, and second, it turns the ground beneath an opponent's feet to lava. - I like this one, too.

When Summer Defender is unsealed with the command "Split!" it transforms into a curved, big hurlbat which moves faster than the eye can see, and temporarily produces a host of stinging insects. - I think this one comes straight from Texas!

I'm going to have to get a Kenpachi icon. He's my favorite character, and right now the only Bleach icon I have is this Renji one.

I just did these two! I collected the artwork a couple of days ago and have been dabbing away at the icons during breaks (Yachiru is hand-colored from a greyscale manga scan). The font on the Kenpachi one is from www.chank.com, which has some nice free TTF fonts. I have a couple of Ichigo pix cleaned up and ready to go, too, but I can't think of what I want them to say! I had another decent Kenpachi image that I could prep up for you ... . I like doing icons: I like the compactness and the challenges that go into fitting the pic & text into that space.

I like Kenpachi an awful lot too ... you might really like Bontenmaru, too, once you get to him in SDK (although he doesn't have a cute little sidekick).

I've got all of the SDK volumes out so far set up on my Paperbackswap.com wishlist, so it should email me when someone adds a copy. I got the first three volumes that way. But somehow I expect that if you manage to commit past the first three volumes, you're less likely to want to swap them out. :)

True ... SDK is still my favorite series because of the combination of Bleach-style adventure/combat stuff, scheming, and angst.

Another crack at the Kenpachi icon ... oddly enough, at the moment I have better fonts on my office PC than on my home Mac. It is a puzzlement ...

Maybe you could limit the "always unsealed" weapons to non-kido abilities?

I don't have the abilities divided into kido and non-kido, unfortunately. :) I may remove one of the "always unsealed" sentences to reduce the number of times it pops up.

Well this has definitely come a helluva far. I think after a bit more tweaking, all you'll need to do is stock vocabulary.

I rolled ten to analyze them.

When Stern Avalanche, Dual Glacier is activated with the command "Pierce, Stern Avalanche, Dual Glacier!" it transforms into a beautiful, big manriki. It greatly reduces the temperature in an opponent's immediate vicinity.
-- Not bad, except for such a name all it does is freeze things. The name fits vaguely, but for something with Avalanche, I want more boomy.

This zanpakuto, named Leaf, transforms into a seemingly-normal knife at the command "Hasten, Leaf!" It produces fireballs that can be directed by the wielder.
-- Not bad. Leaf is a good name for a knife. Fire can actually fit some symbolism.

Unseal this zanpakuto with the command "Live, Earth Splitter!" It resembles a jagged, short hanbo with an elegantly carved shaft and allows the wielder to sink into solid surfaces.
--OK, this pretty much is on, cool, and perfect. Even the LOOK works.

Unseal this zanpakuto with the command "Appear, Midnight like Snow!" It resembles a transparent, massive myrmex and produces a blinding flash of light.
--OOOH. Just OOH. I mean - perfect. Awesome.

The zanpakuto Angelic Water uses the command "Dawn" to transform into a cute naginata. It has two techniques: first, it produces an analgesic mist around the wielder, and second, it boosts another person's kido attack.
-- Decent.

Unseal this zanpakuto with the command "Torment, Claw Defender!" It resembles a small, bent jitte with strange writing etched into the blade and allows the wielder to gain heightened senses of smell and sight to track opponents as they flee or hide.
--Not quite sure the name fits, but I like the overal feral feel.

Infinite Claw is carried sealed into the form of a fountain pen. At the command "Freeze, Infinite Claw!" it transforms into a black, light meteor hammer which seems to be made of stone. It injects a venom upon impact that slows the opponent by 25%.
-- Not sure here. Weapon is cool. Name and invocation - not so much.

Golden Catfish is carried unsealed, and is a substantial, serrated flail whose chain changes length at will. It produces a shockwave up to 10 meters in diameter.
-- Very good. I can see this one.

When Rainbow like Snow is unsealed with the command "Come out!" it transforms into a seemingly-normal sword, and speeds the healing of wounds.
-- Not bad. Also "Rainbow Like Snow" is an awesome gay bar name.

Spectral Head like Smoke makes any body part touched by this weapon explode and resembles a black, tiny jian as tall as the wielder after it is unsealed. Shikai is invoked with the command "Whirl, Spectral Head like Smoke!"
-- OUCH. Well this one works on many ground. But is ugly. And hopefully doesnt hurt the wielder.

Why, thank you. XD To construct the name, it pulls from between one and four tables of name elements. If it pulls from one particular table, which I've got set up in categories, it picks an ability related to the category the name element is from. The commands and descriptions are all random, which makes it wonderful when they manage a hit. (Sometimes I'd swear the damn thing learns!)

To make them *all* related would be way too complicated with the particular setup I've got going, but the near-misses are at least highly entertaining.
