Testing LJ crosspost plugin

Decided to see if there was a crossposting plugin for Wordpress that would post to LJ. Yup. And looks like I can even force comments to be made to WP instead, and have it tag on LJ (not that I have any useful tags on WP). It’s supposed to even edit and update the LJ post if I do that over here on WP.

Now if only I had a use for it… :)

ETA: Well, it posts, although it gives me horrible error messages. :D

ETA2: Testing to see if disabling a particular plugin stops it throwing errors. Mind you, there doesn’t seem to be a way to tell it not to crosspost something if you don’t want to.

ETA3: Yup, a plugin that I don’t even use was causing the problem. Deactivate plugin; problem solved. Woo!

Testing to see if LJ cuts work. Probably not.

Um, wow, they do (I’m using the Code editor and not the rich text editor in Wordpress, BTW). Now to test the More tag for WP…

It does.

Yup, tested that. :)

Not that I have a desire to create a WP blog, but I figure if I ever did, it would come in handy.

I have a wordpress blog, and I think I even use this same plugin. The only down side to forcing comments to the WP blog (i.e., disallowing them in LJ) is that one's comment traffic drops noticeably. Probably due to separate ID systems...I hear there's a WP plugin for LiveID or whatever authentication system livejournal is compatible with. But I've never found it.

Still, you might not have that issue. I'm also just an unpopular person.

OpenID. :) And nah, there'd be a definite drop in traffic and I've got no beef with LJ serious enough to make me cut and run. I just like playing with WP plugins. :)

Does WordPress have a working LJ-cut-clone function now, or do you know? It didn't the last time I tested, but I live in hope...

Doesn't look like it, but you can use the "More" tag to post a link to the full WP blog entry. (tested above)

And I jsut noticed a new side menu at the bottom of the posting page where I can tell it not to crosspost something or manage the comments individually. Cool. :)

Oh. I just put in the LJ cut tag, and it worked.

I'm using the Code version of the editor page in WP, not the rich text editor, BTW.
