Caaaaat!

If I require your assistance when cutting mats, I will let you know.

No love,

But-but...cats no more about doing anything...than anyone else!

:D She got offended at me and left for Parts Unknown, probably deep under the sofa.

:-D My kitty attempted to help me when I was putting my processor on my motherboard. They get quite offended when their efforts to assist go unappreciated :)

I know! She first sat on top of some shelves and supervised closely, but then felt the need to get down onto the table and participate, which was Not OK.

But your cat loves youuuu!

(Does Cat have a name, or is she just Cat?)

I think her name is "Nefer". She thinks her name is "Kitty" because that's all I ever call her, and will, reasonably often, respond to it.

My, that sounds familiar... and it seems like the more power tools and/or blades are involved, the more they want to be involved. Well, unless said tools are too noisy, then they'll keep their distance usually.

Didn't you get the memo? If you're doing something (especially if that something happens to be on the floor), the cat is automatically involved AND in charge.

My cat likes to try to attack the blade of the mat cutter...and the paper cutter... It's amazing he still has all four paws.

Both my cat and my sister's cats have a thing about lying on paper left on the floor. We're not quite sure why. This makes it a bit problematic when I'm sitting there (floors are good for spreading out on :) ) trying to do homework or draw, go get a drink and come back to find that in the 2 minutes I was gone a cat has placed itself on the book/ notebook/ sketchpad and is either asleep or doing a good impression of it. I'm too nice and appreciate having my limbs all accounted for so I usually leave the cat to it for awhile and watch tv/ read instead. XD

*grin* My tubby kitty takes running starts at paper lying on the floor, and makes her front paws into a V in order to slide _under_ the paper. Unfortunately this causes papers to go EVERYWHERE...

But you might do it *wrong* if she doesn't help!

I bet she sat right in the middle of everything. Approval by cat butt; it's better than a hallmark.

Yes, yes she did. XD

I bet the noise was part of the attraction ... you said that she likes to shred paper. And here she thought you were shredding paper, and you didn't want to share!
