In progress
An in-progress shot of the thing I asked you to vote on in my last entry.

1) No clue what I'm doing with the background, maybe turning it white and leaving it like that to let all the candy colors pop out (there will be some translucent blue streaks across the window). You can suggest things, if you're so inclined, but there will be NOTHING representational there - i.e., no recognizable objects. It will be abstract. Why? Because it will take me antoher day to draw anything representational and A-Kon's in a week. No time.
2) For those who kept saying "The kid" in the comments, that's not just any kid. You see, in Death Note, before Mello, there was L. This is L, and his freaky monkey toes:

He often is chewing on his thumb or fingers, and it's a running joke through his scenes that he's always eating something sweet (the mangaka outdid himself).
L is also in my icon.
And here is a picture of an adorable baby owl that inexplicably showed up during the Google image search for "death note L":

And because she whined in the poll about not being mentioned: yes, this picture is
rachelmanija's fault also. (I had not forgotten you: I was intending to mention it when the final picture was actually posted, like I always do. :P)

Of course it's L! (The amount of time I spend fretting about L when reading Death Note is pretty sad ... that whole package of twitchy behaviors, including the snack habit, keeps reminding me of various kids I used to hang out with and mother back in high school ... .)
