I so totally understand. Except a brief break to eat a meal selenite made me, I have been knitting on a last minute, tomorrow-morning-early-deadline, special project, since about 7 pm or so. So yeah, about the same amount of time.
I am tired, my fingers and shoulder hurt, but I am DONE. Pictures and story will be posted tomorrow.
I'm not done yet. *whimper* I did the text and speech balloons in Manga Studio, which is awful for lettering but better than Photoshop, exported them, and am now putting them on the proper pages in Photoshop. I think the sound effects will have to wait until tomorrow, because I'm not going to make it much longer...
Oh ho! That's exactly how I do it. For you see, even though I am the writer in my little comic duo, because of a long career as an unpaid scanlation editor, I do all the lettering. I can go pretty fast.
Also, well, I love having massive amounts of control over the script until the very end. I'm terrifying that way.
But yes, I do speech balloons in Manga Studio, but I refuse to letter or do sfx in anything but Photoshop. My computer hates me, but that's the way it is.
OH lord, I think I now recognize who's in your icon. Besides lettering, I've been mainlining Kyo Kara Maoh, which probably contributes a bit to the bugeye, or at least the brainhurty, and that looks like Yuri's friend Ken who is now starting to reveal himself to be more than he seems. (I'm just an episode past the VICIOUS INFLATABLE NINJA SHEEP.)
He ish awesome. I love a series that has a ninja sheep as a major plot point. I've actually been procrastinating on my short story for class by watching the newest disk for season two. There is cake and Wolfram.
I got my hands on a Chinese bootleg with episodes 1-39 that inexplicably contains the official English sub and dub*, yet has awful menu handling and misspells the subtitle on the cover as God (?) Save Ur King. The discord weirds me out.
* I have to have the dub on when doing art because I can't watch the screen that much; luckily it's not a bad dub.
Ow, ow, ow. Nothing like staring at white glowy computer screens for hours to wreck the ole eyeballs. I will be back to my Wacom tablet tomorrow if you need help with anything else. I don't have manga studio except for the stupid freebie one, but I do have the full creative suite, including Illustrator if you go that way for the effects lettering and want some help.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I *think* I'm ok - all I have to do is drop in the sound effects and then I can work on the cover. With luck, this baby'll be all wrapped up and into the printer by Wednesday.
I think the final boxes will be shipped directly to the hotel, to keep me from panicking too much, but that can be done easily.
I read that as 'littering' at first and I was confused. I kept thinking, 'well, that's bad for the environment and all, but why would it make you bug-eyed? is that a metaphor for something?' Then I read the post again. Uh. My reading comprehension fails, apparently. XD
I feel your pain. There are a couple weekends where I've had to lock myself in my office and push through 100+ pages of lettering. I think my record is 56 hours with only two (very) brief nap breaks. I was barely able to move my arms afterwards.
I don't think I could do that all at once.* I did Project Blue Rose in spates, finishing up a few pages and lettering them, but I did all 43 pages of Spindrift at once. Luckily there's several pages with no dialogue, so I probably lettered about 37-38 total. I rejoiced when those pages came up.
* Although I updated the entire website at my workplace over one weekend in two 12-hour stints, which was brain-numbingly tedious, let me tell you.
Bugeyed myself

(I failed to finish what I was desperate to finish yesterday, of course.)
