BPAL

Anyone out there want to split an imp pack of the Salon III (way near the bottom) scents with me? It's $82 total, so half of that plus a wee bit extra to cover supplies & postage - $45. :)

Salon III seems to be heavy on the amber, hence my desire to try them.

Rose Moon - "Bulgarian rose, tea rose, violet leaf, opium poppy, Bois de Jasmin, patchouli leaf, honey, blue lilac, balsam, woodruff, and lemon peel. " Rose scents don't do it for me, so no.

Blue Moon - I wonder how many people are going to buy a bunch of bottles and hoard for a year to try to ebay a profit from this? :) "Mugwort and bay, for psychic sensitivity. Juniper, for divination through dreams. Orchid and galbanum, for complexity, wisdom and noscere with a potent lunar-charged blend of exquisite Asian woods, moonflower, Madagascan ylang ylang, Florentine iris, Greek cypress, davana, green tea absolute, palmarosa, cucumber, Clary sage, melilot trefoils, wood aloes, and pale creeping buttercup." The problem here is the juniper - if it weren't for that, I'd try it, but I'm iffy.

Tamamo-no-mae - "soft skin musk, brushed by white tea leaf, rice flower, black locust flower, white sandalwood kodo smoke, dry ginger, benzoin gum, and Amacha. " This I may try.

Gemini 2007 - "Lavender, benzoin, orchid, and frankincense. " NO NO LAVENDER NO NO.

Waaaaaay too much vanilla for me. :D Amber does on me what I wish vanilla would.

I'm intrigued by Blue Moon, but I keep reading that looooong list of ingredients and getting nasally confused halfway through each time. I have the same sort of problem with the Salons - once the ingredients goes above four or so notes, I'm utterly lost as to what it's going to smell like (apart from the generic "sharp" or "sweet").

Man, it's been ages since I ordered any BPAL... I'm kinda tempted to grab a few of the Dogs before they vanish (I didn't even know they were up!).

I think they're already gone - the tiny text says March 7th. :( I had no idea theyw ere up either, which is too bad because some of them sounded interesting. Oh well, tehre's always the LJ comms to find decants. :D

According to the forum, the Dogs are up until the end of the Lunacy, i.e. the 5th May.

Curses! *eyes bank balance*

Ah, so it's a typo on that page, then! Hrm. Now this means I have to actually make a decision. :P

Too many of the new Salons have deal-breaker notes for me, but there are several that I will buy off you if you end up not liking them: Madonna and Schlafende Baigneuse, certainly, and maybe others.

I think I'll try Blue Moon. And, I must confess, I already bought both t-shirts.

I'm betting the white cream and honeycomb would be a serious deal-breaker for me on Schlafende Baigneuse - the milk-type scents do badly on me, and honey goes horribly cloying. Which is sad, since the rest of it sounds good.

I want me some of those dogs! But why are they only live until March 2007 and posted in April? *Is puzzled*

Mmm, amber. I don't think I need any more though. Looks at pile of untested and tested imps. Hmmm...

I think maybe they just never took them down? Although i don't actually remember them going up.

Hey, this is sort of random, but if you're ever ordering random imps and need one to round out the number, I've been eyeing Croquet for a while. I just don't have enough stuff I'm interested in to even get to three, since BPAL works for me once every... almost never.

OK. :)

I am seriously considering Rose Moon, even though I don't currently have a mailing address so would have to wait some random interval of time to bring it down from Boston. But! Rose Moon! Yeah, I may have to.

I have no money and am therefore avoiding BPAL like the plague, but Blue Moon is an excellent beer.
