40 min., 7 mi., 329.3 total. Stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill in the valley!

Did 40 min today, after skipping yesterday because of serious emo breakdown over printing companies (which you really don't want to hear about, trust me), which ended up on a positive note as I (a) found my tax permit, which had been seriously bothering me for some time and (b) thanks to a tip from [livejournal.com profile] tammylee, found a printing company that seems responsive, professional, quick, and quality. CAN IT REALLY BE???

How much does Mello have to hate me before I get told who the printer is??

Lightning Source. (https://www.lightningsource.com/) :D They do both POD type things, like Rachel and I are doing with Spindrift, as well as working with larger (real, named, recognizable, even) publishers. You can even do distribution through them if you want to. Their POD pricing seems to be comparable to Dreamweaver - the per-copy fee is lower, but the setup fee is higher, it all works out in the end - and I don't think there's a minimum order - they're perfectly willing to print 50 copies or fewer, and we're doing 100.

If you go partway through the new-account registration setup, you'll get the PDF of their info, technical specs, pricing, etc. They do a variety of sizes, too, and you can choose creme or white colored paper.

I faxed in the final paperwork with my signature last night and as of 11AM my account was activated and I had three people email me with introductions and two specials they're running at the moment. And they promptly emailed me back with answers to questions I sent - within 30 minutes. O.O

As I told [livejournal.com profile] tammylee, I don't know their stance on publishing pr0n, but they make no mention of content requirements in their paperwork.

The *only* thing that's not perfect so far is that they don't guarantee full bleeds, OH NO HOW WILL I SURVIVE which I can totally live with.

I know Lightning Source - I think their stance on 'fan works' was a no-go, so I never used them. :/ I was wondering if Torquere used them for their print books, since they seem to work hand in hand with Amazon. 0_0.

Let me know how it pans out for you, when you get to A-Kon.
