Changing to automatic bill-pay helped me immensely with that. Now the only one I forget to pay is the power bill, which doesn't have an automatic option, and they send an overdue notice and then a "We'll turn it off in ten days if you don't pay" notice before I get into serious trouble, so it all works out in the end.
