Ow!
It's a friend's birthday, so she and her husband treated a bunch of us to bowling and pizza. We eventually got the pizza - we'd been there an hour and they hadn't brought it out, so my friend went and complained. Then an hour later, they hadn't brought it out, so my friend went to complain that the group next to us, which had gotten there some time after us, had already gotten their pizza and finished it. At which point she discovered that they'd brought the pizza out ... to the wrong group. Yup, to the people next to us. We eventually got pizza, and the manager brought it out to us.
I bowled two games and sat out the third and fourth because you know? Bowling? With a bad back? So not a good idea. Owwwwwwwwww.
On the bright side, I hadn't bowled in, like, fifteen years and I didn't completely suck, I just mostly sucked. I managed to hit pins at least once during the frame for most frames, and twice I got strikes, and once I picked up a spare. :) My lovely score? 58 the first time and 64 the second. :D

b) that's far worse to my back than bowling with one hand. Think about what you're doing with your back when doing that. You're rounding it. And carrying a weight at the same time, not lifting that weight from the knees, and moving your arms with that weight. The correct way to bowl, you keep your back straight and only twist it a very slight bit - the majority of the momvement comes in stratching one side as you raise and lower your bowling hand. My problem is that I have a weak ligament in my lower back that does not like twisting, especially with a weight. Someone with a healthy back would not have that problem when bowling correctly, but someone with a healthy back who attempts a two-handed thing runs a pretty good risk of no longer having a healthy back after too much of that.
There's a good reason it's the proper way to bowl.

Here's the two-handed method. See how his back is round? Mine hurts just looking at that and I can't actually physically do that without pain. It's a bad idea to lift anything that way.

I just kept imagining one of those boys catching the ball with his face on the upswing, while I followed through and pitched him down the lane, and as his limp body careened into the pins and the backboard, his father would be on the sidelines throwing up his arms and shouting, "Yaaaaaay!!!!"
I don't want to think about what would have followed on the ball return.
>.> <.< >.> ... what?

I am surprised that bowling wasn't that much fun for you.
I love bowling, but I have been doing it since my parents sent me and my brother to Sat bowling for kids every weekend as children.
I even have my own ball, but mine is about 16 lbs or so.
I bowl with my mom on her league now and get an average of 115 or so. I should be doing better, but I'm not since I stopped bowling when I got into highschool.
My mom and Dad, they're good at it. My Dad once shot a perfect 300 in one game in 2004 and my mom has almost got a 300, she had a 277.
They bowl at least twice a week, if not more.
Practice makes the bowler!
