OT: Since you are the google queen I thought it might be appropriate to ask you. I recently started reading D.Gray-man and noticed the similarities between the book men in that series and the group in Princess Tutu. Now I am curious about it. I didn't see anything on Wiki, and I think "book men" is just too general to do a google search. I can't think of any other way that my search could be phrased either. So, out of curiosity, have you ever encountered anything with "book men" before, and if not would you possibly have any suggestions on finding more information about them? Thanks!
I think I'm reading mostly for Komui Lee, and a bit for the story. I'm keeping on buying to see what happens, although I may give up in a book or two if nothing else really grabs me.
I keep intending to do a funny LJ post about the similarities between this and FMA, but it requires me getting off my ass and scanning, so it may be a while. :)
I got the first volume from paperbackswap.com. I didn't like it enough to buy the series, but

I got the first volume from paperbackswap.com. I didn't like it enough to buy the series, but <ljuser=darkelf105> has what is available in the US, so she let me borrow. I hate to mention it because I will probably get flamed, but I kinda like Dgrayman better than FMA. I'm a sucker for female characters and I never really liked Winry, but I am a fan of Lenalee and clock-girl and the bad chick looks really neat as well.
Yeah. I watched the first disc (finally). I'll get around to ordering disc two sometime, but I still have the second part of Wolf's Rain to watch as well.
:) It really picks up a few more episodes in. You know how what you're watching seems to be structured in a really episodic manner? I won't say anything but: remember these episodes. XD
Oh you can use spoilers if you wish. I have read was was out in the manga and seen random episodes on tv. I think I know pretty much everything that happens, just not how exactly. I am really hoping for an episode or two later that are more centered on the girls. (I really liked Hawkeye but it seems like she gets no screen time. Eidetic memory chick was also cool!)
Everything that happens after volume 8 in the manga you can throw out of your head. It's not in the anime. The manga chapters were also taken apart and rearranged and rewritten to be tighter and have more emotional resonance. The timeline is also played with, and some of the backstory is rearranged and rewritten. So it's more like an AU than anything else.
Anyone who dies or survives in the manga, you cannot trust in dying or surviving in the anime. ;) There are also characters in the manga who are not in the anime, and while the majority of the characterization is brought over, there are some small bits here and there that differ. There's a bit more Hawkeye and Winry and the librarian chick later on in the anime, but it does remain focused on the Elric brothers.
XD It may not be for you, then. I didn't really get addicted to it until past episode 15 or so, and by 26 I was a total FMA junkie. If you can make it through the first season, you will probably be addicted to it, too, and if you're still bored by that point, it's probably not going to be a favorite.
Probably not, but I will eventually watch it all so I know what people are talking about. I have horrible luck with anime and never really like the "popular" series of the year. Probably just because my tastes skew more shoujo then anything and the shounen stuff gets much more marketing.
