BPAL: Schwarzer Mond, Black Moon, Chaos Theory III
Too tired to make them all separate posts. You can deal.
And for those of you coming in relatively recently - no, I don't let my cat lick the perfume. I just let her smell it to see how she reacts, and if she tries to lick it, I turn my arm so she gets a non-perfumed spot, or take it away. :D
Schwarzer Mond
BPAL description: From the LE - A Little Lunacy collection. The keeper of secrets: opoponax, Tunisian black amber, night musk, antique patchouli, zdravetz, terebinth, myrrh, and Pimenta racemosa.
In vial: A dark fruit, actually. Or sort of bay rum with a fruity overtone.
Wet: The patchouli starts coming out, with that weird fruitiness still behind it. I think that may be the amber, actually.
Dry: The amber comes out more and the patchouli fades a bit.
Notes: The cat is interested enough to sniff a couple of times but not enough to lick it. Smells surprisingly good at the moment, now that the patchouli fades. I'll have to see if the musk comes out and goes nasty at any point. If not, I may be keeping this. If so, it'll be sold. (a bit later) The musk is behaving itself, and the myrrh is coming out. I think I rather like this. (much later) Duuuude. This wears down to amber and incense, and it smells like the good times I had in college and the SCA. I think this is defintely a keeper! I completely didn't expect to like this one and am very pleasantly surprised.
Black Moon
BPAL description: From the LE - A Little Lunacy collection. The absence of light: motia attar, black orchid, mugwort, English pear, cucumber, blue lotus, jonquil, massoia, calamus and crystal musk.
In vial: Lotus, touched with pear and cucumber? Not the overly bubblegum scent lotus usually has, but a softer one.
Wet: A bitter lotus. Still not bubblegum. Maybe pear?
Dry: Thin, bitter flowers.
Notes: The cat sniffed a couple of times, but was more interested in licking my perfume-free finger than in the perfume on my arm. I'm not liking this much: think it'll be sold. Maybe it's the jasmine note that everyone's detecting in it? Jasmine's really not my thing. (later) Ah ... my nose stopped up when I was sniffing it and cleared up a few minutes after I stopped. Probably the jasmine.
Chaos Theory III: MCCCII (1302)
BPAL description: From the LE - Chaos Theory III: Strange Attractors collection. Each bottle of Chaos Theory is truly unique, a fragrant fractal, and exercise in the joy of chance and uncertainty! Each is a one-of-a-kind, utterly random combination of scents, the composition of which is based on whim, mood and gut instinct. Most common allergens have been omitted from the experiment. No pennyroyal, no nuts, no cinnamon, no cassia. Regardless, if you have any sensitivities, please do not participate in Chaos Theory.
In vial: Damn … can't place it. Seems almost citrus, but not a bright or bitter citrus.
Wet: I'm getting a /sort/ of Lemon Pledge from it, but not really. Hrm. I'm also trying to figure out if this faint pear or floral thing is from this scent or contamination from the Black Moon a bit farther up my arm.
Dry: Arg! It's drying into *something* familiar! But I can't recognize it! Aarg! The lemon Pledge thing is gone, and it's not really like the Black Moon any more.
Notes: The cat is a bit taken aback, but eventually tries to lick it. It's now officially driving me craxy that I can't place it.

In vial: Something sort of rich, like halfway between a fruit and a floral.
Wet: Strange. It's reminding me more of a paint-type smell than a perfume.
Dry: It's … sort of a perfumey paint smell to me. Huh. Not in the least bit familiar. (later) I think there's some sort of faint wood in it, actually, but I can't quite place it. (even later) I think there may be a bit of tobacco in this, actually. It smells more guy-like than girl-like, and there's a dark sort of wood/cherry that's now reminding me of pipe tobacco.
Notes: The cat sniffs, but refuses to lick. This is … interesting in that it smells nothing at all familiar to me, but it's not good enough to keep.
Chaos Theory III: MCCCXXXIV (1334)

In vial: A rich spicy-fruity scent. Carnation?
Wet: That spicy scent … and a cardboard scent behind it that's almost almond, but can't be since they left nuts out of it. Might be apricot, since that changes to cardboard on my skin.
Dry: The cardboard fades into the background, and it settles into a kind of nice faintly spicy fruity scent.
Notes: The cat is not a fan of this scent. It's nice, but I'm not in love with it. Will have to wait and render my final judgement later.
