ConDFW needs badge art ASAP! If you think you can do something withint 24 hours or already have something appropriate, take a look at the specs I posted on DA and see if you're interested. The person we choose gets $30 or a one-year DA subscription, or a DA print of their choice worth (with shipping) up to $30. (And if you're a DFW local, free admission to the con.)

And if you want to volunteer at the con, show up to ConOps and let us know. We'll put ya to work. :)

OT, but: Do you know any good Javascript books for people like me who've only taken Programming 101 (introduction to the introduction C++ course)? It's for the summer. I'll need to be able to understand and make small changes/additions to existing code, although of course I wouldn't mind learning to do more than that.

(XD you code and you work for a library. Obviously this makes you the most qualified person, like, ever to answer this question.)

Plus, do me a favor and fandom_wank that Death Note "I'd write 'girls are inferior to boys' except I'm too dumb to spell 'inferior'" post over on death_note. What it lacks in originality it makes up for in sheer OP stupidity.

XD My prof, when I took it, had us get the Javascript Bible, but I fidn it a bit overwhelming because it's got, like, everything thrown in there. Javascript Goodies and the Visual Quickstart books are simpler, geared towards the newcomer to coding.

Heehee. Oh well, we've got a couple of nice possibilities from people on DA already. I'm going to have to remember that next year and post on DA again for badge art if we don't have anyone on tap for it.
