Pretend you can see the red dots for Cayman Islands and Jamaica, the only additions since I last did this.

I seem to have done something to my upper back, left side, a little bit under my shoulder blade, from hauling stuff around while cleaning last night. Only it didn't hurt at all until I sat down in my office chair this morning and it went HOSHITNODONTYOUDOTHAT. Ow.

On the bright side, my living room and the area where I've got my art stored is spotless if you don't look at the shelves where I've got artwork and art supplies piled haphazardly. The bedroom is still a pigsty, and the office/studio area is packed solid with books and papers and stuff, but the living room is clean and the kitchen is still clean and I MUST HAVE BEEN TAKEN OVER BY AN ALIEN.

Stand in a hot shower, as hot as you can stand it, in a position where the water sprays on your back just where it hurts and do range of motion exercises with your shoulder. I have a bad back too, and I find that hot water helps as much as anything.

Four Advil seem to have loosened it up enough for me to work without thinking about it. XD I'll keep the hot-shower thing in mind for tonight if it tightens up after the Advil wears off. Well, it probably *will* start hurting again, because I have a 66-pound package to get from my car to the apartment if the UPS person comes before I get home and leaves it at the apartment office. I've got a hand truck, so all I have to do is haul it from the car to the hand truck, then I can wheel it in. Ironically, it's a recumbent bike, so I can get more in shape. XD

It's usually my lower back that I screw up - this upper-back thing is new.

I just thought of something else, as my right shoulder is starting to hurt. Thermacare heat wraps. For some reason, my right shoulder starts hurting when it gets cold, and the heat wrap helps.

Could the generally cold weather of late be a culprit, or at least a contributor?

For my back or for my alien-ness? :)

I hauled my futon/sofa thing and my living-room chair around, so I'm putting it down to that. I usually kill my lower back when moving them, though, and it seems to be more-or-less fine.

I just get more notable aches when the weather suddenly changes, so while yes, your heavy lifting might have done something, I wondered if that might exaserbate it.

My mom recently had a similar problem. She lifted some boxes, and then that same spot on her back kept tightening horribly. I had to massage it out for her several times, and that only alleviated it for a short while. Maybe it's a muscle group that you tense when you lift, even if you aren't using.

I want an alien parasite too! my Christmas tree is still up... And that is not to mention the piles of unfolded laundry and unwashed dishes and general chaos.

If I put a Christmas tree up, it'd never come down. XD I actually did laundry yesterday and put it all up ("folded" is too strong a word - I think "wadded in a roughly rectangular manner" is a bit more like it), although I still have clothes from previous loads that I never wear all over the loveseat-thing in my bedroom, mixed in with books and art supplies.

i've noticed that with injuries. time delay, i mean. i have a reaccuring injury in my knee, and so i've learned that when i do something that irratates it, before it even hurts i begin taking care of it. sadly, its almost become a life style. :( but anyways, my best hopes that it gets better without any revisitations... ^^
