Aaaaargh

I hate getting migraines in the middle of the night, because I'm not awake enough to reason properly. I woke up at 4 with one, and wasn't awake enough to think "Gee, maybe I should TAKE MY DRUGS," which means that when I woke up again at 6, it was much worse and the Relpax merely damped it down a bit instead of getting rid of it. And then two hours later I threw up and declared that it was a sign I was supposed to stay home from work today.

At least I've got all this chicken stock, since my stomach isn't sure I want solid food now. :D And I've got that Korean soap opera on the TiVo, so I can entertain myself with a drama about three generations of seriously passive-aggressive manipulative women. Despite that it's named after the husbands, the show is currently focusing almsot entirely on the women and how they attempt to control everyone else's life. One of them's hurt her back moving a giant potted plant and is now attempting to control her daughter from her bed with threats of suicide. XD I'll evnetually get tired of this, but not yet.

I am beginning to think seriously about talking to my pcp about those drugs, 'cause I knew I was gonna get a migraine yesterday and realized there was pretty much nothing I could do but hope I didn't.

And of course I did.

Do so. Most of the time Relpax knocks it out completely for me, but that's contingent on me catching it in time, otherwise it'll only knock it out partway.

I'm now hurting much less, thanks to getting liquids, caffeine and calories into my body in the form of tea and chicken stock, and I'm going to attempt some biscuits and see if my stomach tolerates them, but I'm still not going in to work because the flourescent lights, computer screen, and general attempt to think will make it worse. My day consists mostly of sitting in a dark room watching television at the moment. :D

That sounds unimaginably awesome, yes.

I went back to bed and am only back up now. I decided thinking was a dangerous and fate-tempting idea. Best Year Ever's on VH1.

Hey, do you have dish network or direct tv? If it's dish, what channel do you pull the korean soap from.

I have a weird setup - my cable/ISP company provides it through Dish Network. :D I think it's channel 652. *check* Yup.

Also, channel 9407 (COLOURS) shows a lot of anime in the afternoon and evening, along with 347. My TiVo suggested Gokusen to me - a comedy about a woman who's the heir of a yakuza clan who really wants to be a public school teacher and has to keep her mob connections secret - and it shows on 347 (EWAM).

I hate that, too. I just cannot get myself out of bed and head downstairs for meds & something to take them with. I always feel like maybe it'll go away if I just lay there for a bit..

Sounds a lot like "Zao Tang Lao Ban Jia De Nan Ren Men" (a Korean drama dubbed in Chinese, and I only know the chinese name)

The show translates the title as "Men of the Bath House", while the TV guide thingy has it as "Public Bath House Guys." I haven't quite worked out the relationships and locations of everyone yet, but it seems to be Matriarch and Patriarch, who own the bathhouse and ... an apartment building? And live in either a house or an apartment next door, along with #1 Son, #1 Son's Wife (The Bitch) and their three daughters. #2 Son lives with his wife (The Witch), his son and his wife, and their new baby in the apartment building next door. Daughter lives with her nerdy OB/GYN husband, also in the apartment building next door.

Presumably, with some more watching, where they live and who owns what will be all sorted out, but it's confusing.

That's exactly it! Literally the Chinese title translates as Bath House Family Men. We own the entire series on (pirated) DVD, and it's absolutely hilarious. I love it.

I've seen five or six episodes now and I'm totally addicted. XD

Mmm, it only gets more addicting as the series progresses.

Heee, cool. XD I'm waiting for the one that I've tagged The Witch to get her comeuppance - she's the one who hates her daughter-in-law and is attmepting to sabotage her relationship with everyone else in the fmaily. XD

Heh, the second daughter-in-law (to the patriarch) is the Witch? She doesn't really hate her own daughter-in-law, just resents her because she's from the country and not rich. There's a scene later on that I love, where her daughter-in-law's dutiful obedience actually strikes her conscience.
