Kingdom Hearts

Just a note to all of you helping me with teh KH problem in the previous post - I found it. I'm farther along than Monstro, having finished the boss fights in him before I did Atlantica or Halloween Town. I've managed to get picked up on Captain Hook's ship now - the problem was that I had to warp to Atlantica, and then travel to that nameless new world (i.e. I expect it'll be Hollow Bastion when I finally get there) and get picked up by Hook on the way. I was getting thrown by the fact that the Neverland world appeared on the world-map thing over to the left of Traverse Town, which obviously means "fly around somewhere else until it automagically appears and picks you up." *twitch*

And now I can start hating Peter Pan! I already hate Cloud, Yuffie, Leon, Tarzan, the entire world of Atlantica, and every mushroom or fungus-shaped thing in the entire game. As well as the entire Monstro level, because the PINK AND PURPLE PULSATING SHAPES EVERYWHERE made me want to throw up the entire time I was playing that area - and that is not an exaggeration, because remember how much I complained about the game making me seasick earlier? Yup. But I can tell right now that I'm going to hate Peter Pan. I've put him into my party because, frankly, once Donald's blown his magical wad, he's nothing but a duck with a stick.

I started out hating Riku and Kairi, so I'm not really that into rescuing Kairi. I just want to get this game OVER WITH.

Anyway, thank you for all your help. I shall probably be bitching and in need of more soon. :D

Did you ever do the "desk" KH commission?

That was ... er, another thing that I've temporarily forgotten. The KH one was several characters standing around. :)

Aiyi. I'm glad I decided to abandon KH a few hours into the first game in favor of Katamari and Okami. Everything I hear about KH and KH2 makes me raise my eyebrows more.

I'm keeping with it, partlyb ecause it's the farthest along I've *ever* gotten in a video game and by God I'm going to beat this thing.

It helps that I rather like Sora. I'd vaguely like to play FFVII just because it's such a classic, but I'm afraid I'd want to strangle Cloud within about five minutes, so I'd probably best stay away.

Kingdom Hearts was one of the first video games I ever played, after Final Fantasy X. Of course, now I'm stuck in sidequest hell in Final Fantasy XII.

Heh. I never used any of the optional characters in my party if I could possibly avoid it. At level 45, Donald should never be out of magic if you have Goofy's "MP Gift" and "MP Rage" abilities turned on. It costs him one MP to give another character 3, and he gains MP when he's hit. It's worth turning off some of his other abilities to turn these on. And since Goofy can take more damage than any body, he can just keep feeding people magic.

Since I play like a berserker*, it's good to have magic-wielding characters to heal me when I get so involved in wailing on stuff that I don't notice I'm about to die.

*My love for you is like a truck.

It helps that, relatively speaking, he doesn't actually talk a whole lot. Though there are definitely places where you want to strangle everyone.

I'd say it's not a really hard game to beat if you don't get into trying to finish all the ridiculous, unnecessary sub-quests that pop up near the end, and don't get too obsessed with arming your characters perfectly.

Yeah, Monstro's belly left me feeling like I'd been on a bad acid trip (not that I'd know what one is like, but I presume it's pretty darn close).

While kinda wacky, I enjoyed the game. Then again, it's been a while since I played... and I *KNOW* there were parts I absolutely loathed at some point or another. Just can't recall them at the moment. ^^
