In other news, went to doctor to get this light but persistent cough looked at and now have in hand a diagnosis of asthmatic bronchitis and a short course of prednisone. I'm just looking forward to the first time in eight weeks that I haven't been coughing, thanks to those two colds I got.

Prednisone can be fun. It gave me the best high I've ever had--and it was all legal. However, it was so fun that I got scared and warned my doctor not to prescribe it again!

My mom took it for a bad poison ivy case, and her blood pressure shot up and still hasn't ever quite got back down. I let the doctor know, and she gave me a long, involved answer that boiled down to "that happens to some people, probably not to you." But I'm going in for a general checkup-type thing next week and my blood pressure will be checked then as a matter of course, so I'll know.

I looked it up online, because I knew vaguely that it was prescribed for a variety of things, and found a page that had them all in one big paragraph ... and I had to scroll to read them all. Everyone will be happy to know that any prostate cancer I might have is bound to be cleared up by it, although going by the potential side effects, also listed, I may possibly turn into a euphoric werewolf.
