Bleach photos

As I was poking aorund the Net looking for pictures of Renji from Bleach for reference from a certain angle, I found this page, which is the July archives of the official blog of the Bleach musical. It features photos of the actors in costume backstage - the the dressing or makeup room, it looks like - and the costumes stand up fairly well closeup, it looks like. Nifty.


ETA: If you go forward to the August archives, there's some nice photos, too. And whoever posted some of them didn't quite grasp what real image resizing is, so they take a while to load and if you right-click and view the image by itself, it's big. XD

ETA2: This one makes me inexplicably happy.

Well it looks like they finally did away with the overly glittery shinigami robes they used in the 1st one. That was kinda cheesy. God, I can't wait till Dark of the Bleeding Moon becomes available for dl (I believe the dvd comes out in Dec.) I want an asian man!!! *wai!* Ikkaku was mighty fine before he shaved all that hair off but even that doesn't stop his hotness. I also saved a magazine pic someone scanned in that showed more of the characters on stage and Renji's bankai form I wanted to squee so hard over, it's fucking awesome on the work to his costume.

This one of Ichigo (http://pierrot.jp/title/bleach/rmb/blog/%B0%CB%BA%E5%C9%F1%C2%E6%BC%CC%BF%BF.jpg) is kinda sparkly, but none of the others are like that. I can't say for sure, but it looks subtle enought hat it would draw attention to him on stage and make him stand out from the dark background but not be seriously distracting. It's always hard to judge things meant to be seen from a hundred feet away under stage lighting when they're taken closeup, so I can't be sure. XD

I remember the sparkly robes of the first one, Ichigo in particular as you mentioned -- I keep wondering what fabric they used.

I have to give props -- Byakuya's kenseikan look pretty nifty (at least in the one photo where he's by himself sans haori) -- having just recently made a cosplay of him myself, I know they were the hardest part of the costume.

Also? Kira is a dork.

How... weird. The costumes and stuff are all really nice, but imagining how the characters themselves would sound singing and dancing always entirely escapes me, maybe for the better of my poor mind. (I mean, imagine Rukia belting out Somewhere over the Rainbow...)
