New haircut...

This is how it looked when I got home (I'm also trying on a new shirt I ordered which arrived today). A bit soccer-momish.



It seemed to call for a bit of spiking. Yeah, I usually have a goofy expression in photos, wand holding a camera up to get an idea of what the top looks like isn't helping.

I forgot to mention in the post that in two weeks it's getting colored in some osrt of funky manner. I'm not sure exactly how - I told m stylist that it couldn't get me fired, and I didn't want the same shade of purple as the TCU football team, and he wandered off muttering about dark brown and red and purple. So we'll see. XD

Nice new haircut. ;) I know what you mean about the getting it all whacked off, too. I did the waistlength-to-shoulders whack too after three years of growing it out, and the chin-short cut right after that. It's only growing out again at the moment because I like being able to ponytail it out of the way, and because I don't know a stylist I trust not to make it worse than just the shaggy unkempt thing it is now. I'm checking out that Japanese site you posted for ideas, thanks!

That is so crazy! You don't look like the boys you draw...and yet...I recognized that expression in the 2nd photo. I know most artists do this, and yet, it's always so funny to see it. It's a cute expression. :)

And it's not even deliberate. XD I've had people tell me that I draw people that look like me (this was before bishounen), and I speculate that artists tend to default to people that look like themselves because they're most used to seeing themselves in the mirror every time they go into the bathroom or whatever, so they default to that if they're not deliberately drawing someone else. But I dunno. :)

I think that's probably a lot of it! Also, you know, it's 11 pm & you're drawing, and there's no one around to model for you, so you go in the bathroom to check what a sneer looks like. Etc.
