Death Note anime casting news...

Stolen Ganked directly from [livejournal.com profile] dn_apples. I have no idea if it's official or more rumor.

L + Light Casts Announced
From Issue 40 TOC:

Death Note Anime
- Starts from October 3, 24:56pm
- Cast:
Light: Miyano Mamoru (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamoru_Miyano)
L: Yamaguchi Kappei (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kappei_Yamaguchi)

Yes, if it's true, then that means Inu-Yasha/Ranma Saotome will be L.

Mello hates Rumiko Takahashi.

Oh my goodness-- Kappei Yamaguchi is one of my utmost favorites. He is also One Piece's Usopp-- he's extremely comedically talented.

Er, for what it's worth.

I guess that rules out that rumor that L would be voiced by Romi Park...somehow, despite the fact that she's a favorite of mine, I'm relieved. XD;

I...should really catch up where I was last year (last year and a half??) with DN.

Why is it necessary biographical information to know what blood type that second dude is? Crazy!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a Japanese thing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_blood_type_theory_of_personality). Much like horoscopes, it's a belief that your basic personality can be derived from your blood type.

Oh great....I'm good with plants. :P

I am patient and conservative.

I am punctual. They got the obsessive, stubborn, uptight and self-conscious part right, though. (me and Adolph Hitler...)

RA---L...I--bu---abuh.

Now I want to splash L with cold water and see what'll happen :D

I have to hear Yamaguchi's L before I'm convinced. But, I'm extremely happy with the revelation that Miyano is Raito, because he's one of my favourite on-the-rise seiyuus *points to avatar*

Mmmm, Tamaki-sempai. :)

Hoshiznit. I hadn't planned on watching the anime (moreover because we all know I have ADD, thus making me a dub whore) but it Kappei can pull off L, I may very well.....unless he destroys L and there will be hell to pay.....

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Ranma and Inu-Yasha are the two series that I've watched almost completley in dub, instead of sub. So my voice-memory of them is tied intimately to the guy who voiced them in English, who is totally not right for L, I think. XD

[identity profile] pzb.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeeeah....Ricahrd Cox....not so much. XD

Here....this might help. :D http://ear-tweak.com/iy_sounds/not_either.wav

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I can see that working. XD

(I do like Cox as Ranma and IY, though - he's got that aggrieved-posturing-teenage-male tone down perfect. XD)

[identity profile] pzb.livejournal.com 2006-08-30 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Cox does work well for those two. But I think Kappei can pull it off. It's not like Ranma and IY are the only two roles he's ever voiced....they're just the more popular. XD

This is somehow a million times wonderfull because I just spent the last several weeks dorking out over Host Club and the Prince of Tennis musicals. If only for the WTF factor.

I had my heart set on Ishida Akira though. And Inuyasha=L hurts my brain.
