in a conversation on another journal today, someone who shall remain anonymous but whose username rhymes with rustybitch asked me whyfor no new kitty pictures on my journal. So ...

Looking very leonine up above. As my dad was a wildlife scientist, I can tell you that what she's doing is called 'flehming' - she's drawing air across the vomeralnasal organ located just in the front of the roof of her mouth, which is a way of sort of taste/smelling stuff.

Holding tight to her jingle ball, a small plastic ball with bells in it. She likes this toy because it's loud, rolls in unexpected ways, and annoys me.

I haven't got a really good picture of this yet - the jingle ball has holes cut in it, and she gets her claws stuck in it, and when her claws are stuck in it, she rises onto her hind legs and walks around a bit like that. I've never managed to catch it, since it only lasts a second or two. This is the closest I've got.

I wanted a cat for a long time, but first I was in grad school and had no money, and then I lived with my mom and she had a cat and didn't want another one, and then I was in grad school with no money again, and now I finally have a real job so I went out and got myself a cat. :)
