A mysterious package...

Today in the mail I got a BPAL order I've been waiting impatiently for, plus ... a mysterious package. It's wrapped in brown paper, with my name and address and the return address handwritten. I don't recognize the return address nor the last name on it. I don't think I have any outstanding orders anyplace, and I don't recall any manga/BPAL swaps. I havne't opened it yet, since the anticipation is more fun than anything else, although I will eventually do so tonight.

So ... a poll! Since the last time I did this, it was highly entertaining. (If one of you is the sender, plz to not be telling us and ruining our fun. :D)

[Poll #795634]

Because everything is a cat toy. Sometimes the cat just lets you play with it instead.

Point. XD

If, for some reason, it fails to be Sanzo, and is instead, say, Hakkai ("Dear customer, Unfortunately the bishounen you ordered is out of stock, so we have substituted a replacement..."), can I have him?

P.S. You can keep Gojyo. I couldn't afford to keep him in booze, and the smoke would stink up the house.

I think you would have to fight [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija for him, but it's possible you two could work out some sort of time-share arrangement.

If it turns out to be Gojyo, he's living on the porch. If it turns out to be Goku, I don't know what I'm going to do because I can't afford to feed him.

(These are the problems you encounter when dealing with mail-order bishounen.)

[identity profile] helen-keeble.livejournal.com 2006-08-14 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I hear ya. I mean, I've had Haruka on order for ages, and I keep getting Mugen, sitting in the box wearing nothing but a hopeful grin. And then he runs away as soon as your back is turned. I'm hoping for Jin next time; at least he has a decent chance of actually staying where you put him...

In the interest of responsible bishounen-supplying (er, that is, responsible suppliers of bishounen, not suppliers of responsible bishounen, 'cause that would, let's face it, be a real short catalogue), I think Goku can only be obtained by group order. A big group. Possibly one with access to food plantations.

(Wasn't there actually a manga about mail-order bishounen of some description, with a picture of a naked boy in a box on the front cover? Or am I hallucinating due to exhaustion and the after-effects of mainlining twelve episodes of Samurai Champloo?)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-14 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
There definitely needs to be some sort of control on the bishounen, and which ones are only available by special order. If I were expecting Sesshoumaru and Sephiroth jumped out of the box, I'm not entirely sure what I'd do. His sword is bigger then my entire apartment, for goodness' sake.

(That would be Absolute Boyfriend. Mind you, a naked boy in a box would not necessarily be a bad thing to hallucinate. I think that's what spurred the mangaka to start AB, in fact.)

He's MINE!

Mmmmm... Gojyo... I'd offer to take him off your hands (should you mistakenly receive him instead of Sanzo), but I think my Sanzo-clone might object... However, I could really use Goku to occupy my insane cat, who should have really been named Lirin ;p

While I see someone already made a similar joke, I'll continue to post what the first thing that came to my mind was....

Hakkai and Goyjo in a bow. Yes. A single bow.

(btw, I agree with the statement made at AKon....Hakkai and Gojyo are SO married.... I finished Vol 6 today....had to limit myself to buying on a week XD...heh...I need a Saiyuki icon....)

I went with art supplies, because who doesn't love getting art supplies in the mail (or is that just me)?

On the off chance that it is a certain substitute mail-order bishounen, is there any chance I can get in on that Hakkai time-share?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-15 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
I feel sure we could work out some sort of equitable schedule.

Aw, HELL, I posted the answer. IGNORE IT IGNORE IT AHOOOOOOGA DANGER WILL ROBINSON

I opened it shortly after I posted the poll. XD Thanks!

You realize I am no longer physically capable of not clicking Sanzo.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
My fiendish plan for world domination is well on its way, then!

The plan currently consisting of:

1) Sanzo.

2) ???

3) PROFIT!

[identity profile] mistressrenet.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Step 1 is my favorite.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine, too. That's why I haven't really had any incentive to advance to step 2.

[identity profile] mistressrenet.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
When you've got a good start, it's tempting to just stay there.

It's an award-winning DVD showing various designs for cat toys shaped like Sanzo's head, and graphics software allowing you to modify them for use as BPAL labels or as stencils on inflatable items of all sorts.

(Did I miss anything?)
