How Texan am I?

You are 90% REAL Texan!!

High five, you're a complete Texan. People from other states should tremble in your presence because they're simply not worthy. Let them bow before you and convey their undying adoration to you while they announce their true desire to be Texan.

How Texan Are You?

What I really want to know is: which of those questions did they I get wrong?

[identity profile] the-z.livejournal.com 2006-08-07 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
You obviously don't linedance well enough -A-/

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
And yet another late notification!

[identity profile] the-z.livejournal.com 2006-08-07 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Alas, I'm only 52% Texan and I think that can be blamed on yearly visits to the state. Maybe I would've scored higher if they questioned whether or not your first greeting into the state was A WAREHOUSE OF PORN! Truly, a magnificent state ;_(\

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-07 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, we've got our priorities straight!

Unlike South Dakota. When I lived there for a year, working a contract job at a museum, my coworker and I periodically drove the 5 hours into Pierre, the state capitol, to meet with our bosses. When you travel the main highway through the state, a couple of hours in, there's a big billboard that reads:
You'd really think that they'd put it on the border of the state so that the animal activists would know to go around, wouldn't you?

Anyway, one of my few regrets in life is that I never stopped to take a picture of that billboard. :D

I Went to Texas Once...

This can't be a very accurate test.

You are 66% REAL Texan!!

You're mostly texan. You know your Mexican food, state heritage and are probably slightly politically aware. You can probably pronounce Kukendall, Manchaca and Boerne correctly. Go you.

I will have people know it's perfectly possible to be a Texan and not know how to pronounce "Kukendall," "Manchaca," or "Boerne" correctly, because the last two are Austin-region things* and the first one I've never heard of.

Austin =/= all of Texas. *grump*

* "Man-shack" and "Burney".

Not bad for a Eastern Canadian :)

This test was 86% crap!!

Being a Texasn isn't about knowing what Gruene Hall is, and it CERTAINLY isn't about knowing who Leslie Cochran is. It's about wearing boots, drinking beer, line dancing, reponsible gun ownership, and - from time to time - kicking some yankee ass. If you actually had the patience to complete this quiz, you probably aren't a Texan.

You're more Texan than Texan!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-07 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
By God, I think he's got it!

[identity profile] helen-keeble.livejournal.com 2006-08-07 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I am apparently 36% Texan... despite being British and never having set foot in the state. Mmm.

Is there some weird quantum singularity linking Sussex and Texas that I should be investigating?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-07 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It's obviously the "x".

[identity profile] riofriotex.livejournal.com 2006-08-07 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I beat all of you so far - I am 96% Texan. Probably helps to have family in the Austin area, on this quiz. I think the only question I may have missed was the one about the world's longest pier, as I had to guess. However, [livejournal.com profile] tprjones is absolutely right about this meme.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-08-07 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I know the Austin ones mostly due to family in Wimberley and friends in the area. :D

[identity profile] mvmarcz.livejournal.com 2006-08-07 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
that was an insanely imbalanced test but if there was a louisiana one it would probably revolve around new orleans since everyone things Louisiana = New Orleans

In anycase

Not bad for Louisiana Girl :D

[identity profile] flyingpeachbun.livejournal.com 2006-08-08 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, you're from Louisiana? X3 I hardly ever meet other people from there online... We had to move to Texas after Katrina though :P

[identity profile] mvmarcz.livejournal.com 2006-08-08 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
we weren't effected by Katrina but Rita hit us dead on...poor Cameron is just now rebuilding and most things here in Lake Charles don't have enough employees to stay open regular hours

[identity profile] rayechu.livejournal.com 2006-08-08 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
52% Texan here!
And I'm in Ohio :p
I guessed literally every question, and I think I got a bonus for riding a horse once.

This test says I am only 84% Texan! LIES! They are interrogating my state from the wrong perspective!

But they get points for the Dubya question. Ha. STOP SAYING HE'S FROM MIDLAND, MIDLAND.

[identity profile] cicer.livejournal.com 2006-08-08 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
I am 30% Texan, even though I've never even been to Texas. Ever. Not even stopping over in an airport. Cool. 8D

[identity profile] cicer.livejournal.com 2006-08-08 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
..That was supposed to be 60%, wtf. Go to bed, me.

[identity profile] tygerr.livejournal.com 2006-08-09 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
My knee-jerk reaction (without bothering to go look at the test) is that there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with it if it appears to equate "Austin" with "Texas".

IMNSHO, Austin is about the LEAST "Texan" part of the state. That's where all the lefty-hippie-wierdo-freaks hang out, after all.
