Have purchased a used copy of Kingdom Hearts. Have succeeded in reinforcing that I suck at video games - although, since I hate Kairi, losing the race in the beginning to Riku is not actually worrying me. Have also thoroughly succeeded making myself seasick from the shifting viewpoint.

Do you have a good walkthrough? 'Cause, you can make it easier on yourself depending on how you answer the questions at the very beginning of the game. If you didn't know how to tilt the odds in your favor, you might find it helpful to go back and do so while you're still at a point where it won't be horrible to catch back up to where you were.

Mind you, it hasn't stopped me from doing looking up a walkthrough online because I couldn't find one item, so I looked it up and once the nausea subsides, I'm going back just so I can clear this scenario/level/whatever you want to call it, then will stop for tonight. But gaming it to produce better odds for me feels a bit like cheating. I'll probably never make it through, but oh well. That's familiar to me. :)
But if I can just stop feeling like I'm going to throw up, life will be so much better. :P

And hey, for all you know you already have that setting. Do you remember what 'time of day' your adventure began at, according to the very very first part of the game?

Riku has not endeared himself to me yet. I think I've got a major thing against his giant rubber waders.
And Kairi's head is too big.

Mannn I suck at that game.. I rarely can play though since it's my bro's... but sometimes these kind of games wear on me and I start feeling like I've been in a car for too long x____x;

I decided to try an RPG-type game, for once since I can't do combat-heavy button-mashers because my RSI flares up and makes my wrist hurt badly. If I like it, I'll look for others.

It's sort of halfway between a (very light) action game and an RPG. A true RPG is turn-based and mostly involves picking action choices from a menu rather than active combat as in KH. I have a friend who can't do the twitch games for a somewhat similar reason, though, and she can juuuuuuust handle KH. Standard RPGs, though, are no problem for her.

I stayed on the beach at the island and killed a bunch of those things that, since I used to read The Maxx, my brain persists in calling "Isz." Leveled up there to 7, then got bored and went through the door. I'm in Traverse Town now, and doing some more random leveling. :D

If you decide to try other RPGs later, though, I've got plenty of recs. :)

I recently bought a PC so that I could play Half-Life 2. After an initial attempt, I have yet to go back to it. See, it made me seasick. And it's not even all that wobbly, plus I thought it was peripheral vision that primarily contributed to seasickness, and at the time, I had my monitor rotated to portrait mode.
I really should try it again....

Also, Kairi is annoying.

:< ...well, okay, in KH1 I can understand, I didn't have much of an opinion on her in that one, but. ...I like making the ":<" face. So there.
Also, you picked probably one of the worst possible game series for someone who says they suck at games and has wrist problems that flare up with button mashing. >D;;
Also also: ...wait, you play video games?

Frankly, I've gotten farther in KH than I have in any other game not counting the poker game, because that's not constructed to be a game with a goal other than playing poker, and the button-mashing in KH is nothing compared to Soul Calibur II. SCII is nothing *but* button-mashing, while in KH I get to run around a lot and look at things and every so often get a long cut scene in which I do nothing but sit and rest my hands. My forearms hurt worse than my wrist, and I've got 4.5 hours of gameplay on it. 20 minutes of SCII had me in serious pain.
